Be so much better if they retconned Robbie's brother to be smart like he is in the show.

@stormphoenix: Im not sure if you are aware, but in the 90's they made the most commercial Fantastic Four team ever. It was comprised of Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Hulk, and Ghost Rider, so it only makes sense that this is the new FF. Though I hope they are called something else and not the fantastic four, but maybe...The Fiercesome Foursome

Is Gabe mentally handicapped in addition to being physically handicapped? In the previous series I got the impression that he was just a rambunctious little kid but in this one hes drawn in a way that makes him look much older.

Yeah I'm not a fan of when characters are in too many teams, but it works to temporarily team-up just to do the homage.

Isn't this more of the New new new FF? The original New FF with Spider-man, Wolverine, Hulk and Ghost Rider (Blaze), and then the New new FF (Circle of Four) with Agent Venom, X-23, Red Hulk and Ghost Rider (Alejandra), and now this New new new FF (Four on the floor? or whatever) of Silk, Wolverine (Laura Kinney aka X-23), Hulk (Cho) and Ghost Rider (Reyes). Always a spider character, a wolverine character, a hulk character and a ghost rider. Believe there was a version in a What If issue that had Iron Man on the team instead of someone else.

I think they mean the current Hulk and Wolverine. It's not hard to remember that Bruce and Logan are "dead".

@slimebeherit: that's incorrect, those are merely the stand in characters impersonating the originals UNTIL marvel decides to bring them back.

I don't consider them hulk and wolverine. I also know a ton of other collectors that feel the same way.

I don't like Star Wars episode 1-3 but that doesn't mean they aren't part of the rest of Star Wars. I can choose not to think about them, but I can't say they aren't a part of the series.

Your comparing apples to oranges. movies in the franchise are part of the series regardless if you dislike them or not. killing off characters and bringing in PC characters is merely a hope to cash in, which majority of fans do not. If your a comic collector and have been doing this for a long time, you know they will always return them back to status quo. it will happen.

@donmeca2020: So I compare a series and a collection of series, whose decisions are ultimately decided by one company, but because you don't like the decisions made by one of the sides, you say my comparison is invalid? It's more like I compared a Gala apple to a Fuji apple, but because you don't the taste of Fuji apples, then my comparison is flawed.

my mistake buddy, i just checked my previous comments from awhile back, and it wasn't you.

Back on topic, your comparison is flawed. your talking about disliking a few films in a movie series. im talking about how a comic company changed their character line up and roster for the sake of PC and wanting to "appeal to a broader audience". i can very well state these are not the characters because they are not. they're basically stand in characters until the originals come back could be this year or who knows....

point being is your bringing up films that came out in the 90s, and saying you dislike them for whatever reason, is completely different. How about say we take out mark hamill, harrison ford, and cari fisher. ( hopefully she's doing better) and we decide let's put in their place George lopez for luke, Tony shaloub for Hans, gabourey sidibe for leia. That's comparing apples to apples. you WILL have fans screaming bloody murder if this type of change were to happen, and let's be real... this is basically what they did with these comic characters and a flew of others on marvels roster.

No worries.

For you comparison to work, Marvel would have to say Amadeus Cho is your new Bruce Banner, and not only is that not the case, they aren't even saying he's the Incredible Hulk. They are just saying he is also a Hulk; Just like there have been multiple Captain Americas, Ant-Mans, and Ghost Riders. We have had like 3 Spider-Woman who all just call themselves "Spider-Woman" with no differentiating adjective, and we were able to figure it out. We just say "Jessica Drew Spider-Woman" or "The original Spider-Woman." So sure Bruce Banner will always be the original Hulk, but he's not the only one.

And it's funny that we ended up comparing the situation to Star Wars cause that's kind of what episode VII did. They could never replace Han Solo, he has no equal, but you did end up with a new crew aboard the Millennium Falcon. They replaced Han's role, but not his character. That's basically what's happening in the Marvel comics, it's a new guard taking the reins. And yet there is one a major exception. They killed off Han because they were dealing with real people, and Ford seemed like he just wanted it out the series. That's not really a limiting factor in comics, we know death doesn't mean much, so we know Bruce Banner will be back.

@slimebeherit: as far as i see it,they did replace Thor with jane foster, Amaduous is hulk, and x-23 now holds the wolverine title. I can continue to go on and on. However im sure you get my gest.

My point is to give them the name of the iconic characters to the stand ins is suck ass... if only marvel were to release sales numbers of how these sell compared to the originals.

Robbie Reyes's Ghost Rider is fine. I do take issue with X-23 as Wolverine though as her character use to be so adamant against being anything like Logan

Not when it's been their character's belief throughout most of their history. It's no different from when Cap was doing the whole hail hydra bit.

There are beliefs people hold for their entire a life, and even those can be changed, but I can't really comment on X-23 in particular.

Though it is completely different from Hydra Cap, as becoming a Hydra agent was a result of mind manipulation.

Except they don't change it on a whim. Mind manipulation is irrelevant, it's still a drastic change of character. I could've easily said it'd be like if Spider-man started to change his opinion on the whole great responsibility or if Frank Castle decided that bad guys didn't need to die anymore. It was a bad change, let's not make excuses for it in trying to justify it please

I agree they shouldn't change on a whim if the belief was deeply held. Like I said I didn't read how they did it for Laura, so I'm not saying hers was done well or not.

But that did happen to spider-man, it's called Superior Spider-Man.

No, that didn't happen to Spider-man..What happened to Spider-man was that his body got taken over. Last time I checked, Laura's still the one in control of her body. Obviously the personality is going to change when someone else is at the reins

I was addressing your point that mind manipulation is irrelavent. And yes that did happen to Spider-Man:

It definitely doesn't apply to Laura but you were the one that brought up Hydra Cap, and that definitely was an instance of a characters core beliefs manipulated in the mind.

You're still wrong, Spider-man didn't get his mind manipulated..He got his body taken over. It's two different things. That would be like saying someone's personality changed because Ino took over them in Naruto with her mind control

The two things aren't mutually exclusive. It's right in the text box: "The damn thing hacked into my brain-- And re-wrote it!". His brain got manipulated in order for the two to switch minds. Not to mention it was still Peter Parkers brain, except with Doc Ock's brain patterns added on top. That's why Peter was able to take back his own brain, so again, Peter's mind was manipulated.

Having his brain manipulated doesn't mean Peter's personality changed, it inserted Doc Ock's consciousness into Peter while sending Peter into Doc's body. Sounds like you need to reread Superior Spider-man. Peter was still flying around as a ghost thing so unless he was gone fully, it would be a change of personality because of mind manipulation but it wasn't..Peter himself has explained what happened like when he tried to explain it to Black Cat after she got pissy over what SpOck did to her. It would be like you trying to say that Zarathos or Eli manipulates Blaze or Reyes's minds..They took over their bodies, not their actual minds

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying that both things happened. In that case of Peter, it was an added brain patter, in the case of Hydra Cap, it changed parts of his personality.
