Problem uploading Gifs

I have lately been having difficulty uploading new Gifs. Every time I try, it tells me that the gif is too large even though I have previously uploaded gifs of comparable or greater size on this site. Is anyone else having this problem?

New image limit: 3MB IIRC.

@power_hunter: Ah, so it IS a new official change by the website and not a bug. I had thought that might be the case.

Can someone tell me how to send a gif? When I upload it it's only an image.
