Philosopher's Stone is my least favourite HP film but it's still way better than TPM.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) because of Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul and the excellent balance between practical effects and CGI and Green Screen effects.

Much better acting too.

I'd need to re-watch the Harry Potter films to say for certain, but I might put The Phantom Menace above all of them, tbh.

Philosopher's Stone is a good movie.

Phantom Menace is carried by one scene.

The movie with only one annoying unexperienced child actor in it, and with some genuinely good action.

I have found memories of seeing episode I in theaters. My brother, dad and I were going to see Deep Blue Sea. Saw Star Wars instead. I knew of it to some extent, but not much.

As a kid, I was happily surprised. As an adult? Yeah I still prefer it. Liam Neeson and Ewen, good job.

@truessj: this movie also gave birth to characters such as Jackson's Windu and brought back Ian for the Emperor's role for the prequels. And yeah, like you said, Lian and Ewan were also great. This movie really doesn't get nearly enough credit for the cast.

Still this.

One fantastic scene in TPM can't save the film being terrible.
