Better Movie: Jaws or Jurassic Park?
I think Jurassic Park had an unrealistic plot (the science that they used for creating the dinosaurs shouldn't have been able to work) and I think Jaws was more realistic so out of the two Steven Spielberg films I'll say that Jaws was better (but perhaps Peter Benchley's 1974 Jaws Novel, which is the inspiration for Steven's film, is better than the Jaws film). I think the size of the velociraptors in Jurassic Park was wrong too (they were too tall) so that gives another minus score for Jurassic Park

Nope. The book is filled with off-putting subplots and tangents that I'm glad the movie removed. The worst one was a completely unnecessary story-line about an affair between Hooper and Ellen Brody.
The movie made it so much better by cutting all that crap out.
I like Jaws more. There is more of a relationship between the characters and the shark. There’s no real bond between the dinosaurs since there is a bunch of them to deal with, T Rex stood out, but it’s still not the same dynamic as in Jaws.
Also Jaws has the benefit of realism which can help sometimes. Also the bond between the three male leads is more interesting than the three adult leads in Jurassic Park. Hell the most interesting character gets knocked out for a good portion of the film.

Well said.
The idea to use robots/animatronics over CGI made both age very well. Although I find myself rewatching Jurassic Park far more often than Jaws. Not that Jaws is a bad movie by any means; but Jurassic Park is just on another level for me.
Plus, I almost die laughing everytime they flip the electric fence back on and the kid goes flying.
Thanks for reading,

Both are two of my favorite films but Jurassic Park edges it out. The sense of wonder and thrill from how Spielberg depicted the dinosaurs on screen is still astonishing to this day. Also I like how Jurassic Park is basically just a more modern version of Frankenstein with dinosaurs instead given this particular scene.
It also had a sighting of the ultimate life form on screen.

I agree. It’s one my favourite movies OAT. Definitely one of the most influential ones too.
Jaws is much more rewatchable for me. I cant put words to it, but I can watch this movie over and over again where JP is like great and amazing the first time, but totally does not hold my attention 3rd or 4th time. Also Jaws is much more terrifying of a film.
