How is Thanos flying a helicopter with his name on it not the best thing ever?

But DC has bette villains overall.

Being that Thanos was created in the 70s, I think villains like Lex, Joker, and maybe other Batman villains matching Batman's merchandizing kinda made Thanos, who already may have appeared like a Darkseid knock off, appear like he was playing catchup so the appeal wasn't there.

@mr-yes: Thanks! Glad to see Reverse Flash as a top pick. Joker as well since he's great but I don't think many read Flash comics to see how great RF is.

Dc has the better villains imo. It’s close though.

Tbh I actually think anime/other media has the better antagonists nowadays.

DC has the better written villains.

But Venom is prob my favorite CB villain.

Neither have good villains.

Dc & Marvel villains are the bottom of the barrel.

Literally half the reason I prefer DC over Marvel is its wide range of unique and interesting villains. I could make a whole list of them, but I’ll just put my personal top 5:

1. Reverse Flash

2. Murder Machine

3. Red Death

4. Two Face

5. Riddler

Overall DC but Marvel has my top villain Dr. Doom

Who is your top DC villain?

Which anime/other media? Do you mean the quality of the current writing?

I really like older DC and Marvel comics so I'm really interested if there's better media out there.

Also, what do you think are the top DC villains?

Venom had one of the coolest introductions in comics. The fight was awesome.

I think Marvel has the slight edge when it comes to best overall villains. My favorite villain all time is The Joker (and I believe Batman has the best rogues' gallery in comics), but Magneto is my second favorite villain right behind him, and when I look outside of those associated with Batman, the field starts to wear thin for me. It's Magento, Doom, Gorr, Apocalypse, Thanos, Loki, Ultron, Kang, Kingpin, etc. vs. Sinestro, Darkseid, Reverse Flash, Lex Luthor, Cheetah... I guess I feel like the compelling villains are not only more abundant in Marvel, but more evenly distributed as well.

Voting Marvel because of Doom.

Venom is a one-dimensional garbage character and the most overrated character in the Marvel Universe. Every amount of fame, success, recognition and pseudo-acclaim he got should have went to Black Cat.

DC easily. Joker, Lex, Reverse Flash and Darkseid for me are way more interesting than anyone Marvel has tbh.

Darkseid, Trigon, Brainiac, Amazo, Doomsday, Sinestro, Black Adam, Reverse Flash, Mirror Master, Shadow Thief, Poison Ivy, Deathstroke, Riddler, etc...

Dr. Doom is probably my favorite antagonist in Marvel and he gets stomped by the Joker. Joker's the most iconic and probably the best written villain in comics (apart from maybe Vader or something)
