The chances are extremely low. One of the reasons IW was so good because it was the culmination of a bunch of good movies and characters in an epic finale. Half of the major JL characters don't even have solo movies yet, lol.

I just want it to be better than the 2017 version, and fit cohesively with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. If it’s anything more, than that’s icing on the cake. INFINITY WAR is arguably the crown jewel of the MCU, Zacks JL could end up being the crown jewel of the DCEU but I don’t know if it’ll be better. I gotta watch it, and depending how I feel I gotta let it marinate for a few months to see where I’m at this this question

This movie will probably be meh, not good but not outright terrible. The only good thing about Snyder are his fight sequences, Man of Steel and BvS have some of the best fight scenes way better than the MCU but the regular movies are pretty unwatchable

What makes IW good, is that it had a beatiful atmosphere and backgrounds. Especially the space scenes. And the characters interactions with each other of course made the movie fun to watch of course. Endgame could not deliver that atmosphere for the most part.

I doubt JL will be able to do that, but in terms of the overall writing, it can easily surpass IW.

Yeah. I remember first time watching IW and thinking how great whole space adventure act is, it puts sequel trilogy of SW to shame.

Not sure about your last point tho, we all know writing is Snyder's wekeast side, hell DCEU as a whole has terrible writing with exception of WW and maybe Shazam, as much as I would like that to change I just don't see it happening.

@gaoron: I liked MoS and BvS. If JL had the same quality, I'm content.

Besides MCU doesn't have such high standards in terms of writing anyway. It's just popcorn movies after all.

@happylife1996: MoS and BvS were okay-ish mainly due to great action scenes, everything between fighting scenes was pretty underwhelming.

I agree but same applies to every single DCEU movie, only of a much worse overall quality. MCU pretty much perfected their action-comedy formula by now. If you're expecting Snyder's JL to be the first DCEU movie with writing of anything else than a decent popcorn flick you'll be dissapointed. Just from the trailers alone you can tell this is not TDK or Logan, it will be an Avengers movie but with Snyder's edgy and gloomy tone instead of MCU's comedic and fun one.

@gaoron: I never expected JL to be more than a good popcorn movie, I'm just saying that it's not that great of an achievement to surpass IW in terms of the writing. Actually the only thing that would make me say IW or Endgame had better writing quality than MoS or BvS is that it had many more characters, which means more effort was made not to mess any of these characters up. IW had it's share of silly clichés that made me feel like WTF am I watching? I'm too old for this ****. I didn't feel like that watching MoS or BvS.
