Thor and Wonder Woman are both warrior gods based on real-world mythology equipped with mythical weapons. They're definitely far more similar.

For some reason people love to compare Thor with Superman more, though.

Interesting points but what about Diana being a demigod tho?

I don’t know how to fully explain it lol. Just that I feel like she’s closer to Thor. Both super old, both super strong, both trained as a child, both from another planet.

Probably because Thor and Superman are both physical equals and both are the 2 strongest characters in their respective teams (even though only Thor is the strongest in their respective team)..

No, that'd be Sentry for Marvel.

Not really. From my experience Sentry is far more wanked than he is.

Yeah for one Thor has outperformed and beat him. Secondly in that CV Marvel comic tournament Thor beat Sentry. He’s generally considered over him tbh.

Wonder Woman, definitely.

Both are ancient demigods from warrior cultures, whose powers are mainly physical, with some magic sprinkled in.

Superman is nothing like either of them.

For Greek Myth info;

Ares x Harmonia (Nymph*)

She was loved by the god Ares and bore him the first generation of Amazon women--or perhaps just the tribe's first queens, such as Otrera.

Harmonia was probably the Naiad-nymph of a spring or fountain of the town of Themiskyra

Now we get a little bit fuzzy...

Nymphs are often referred to as goddesses, and some are immortal. Although they are naturally long-lived, many nymphs can die. Nymphs can cause metamorphoses. This is the Greek word for changing shape, usually into plants or animals, as in the novel by Kafka and the book of mythology by Ovid. Metamorphosis also works the other way around, so that human women can be changed into nymphs.

Nymphs, in general, did not age or get sick, but they weren't wholly immortal. They could still be killed by external forces, but if they were left unharmed they would live forever. Some Nymphs were also tied to their nature object, for example if someone cut down the tree of a forest nymph, the nymph might die.

The Nymphs (nymphai) were minor nature goddesses which populated the earth. Although they were ranked below the gods, they were still summoned to attend the assemblies of the gods on Olympus.

Some sources might refer of Otrera as Bride of Ares, giving birth to Penthesileia and Hippolyta, but those come very later in history, as many of you know Greek Myth has many Authors, so take as you will, but general audience is more related to

Ares (Olympian Gods) x Harmonia (Minor Goddess)

Children: Otrera, Hyppolita, Antiope, Penthesileia etc... Tribe of Queens. (Most of those I mentioned have records of being queens) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazons#Amazon_queens

Anyway, there is also the fact they are not even said to be Minor Gods in Greek Myth, and some myths already told, Hyppolita died (Killed by Herakles (fault of Hera, as most things related to him), Otrera is mentioned have lost a battle to Bellerophontes.

Sometimes I don't like this cannon, don't really know why, anyway Greek Authors at that time were incredibly sexists so can see why some women might not shine.

Note: Since Harmonia is a Naiad-Nymph, she is not succeptible to being killed by cutting a tree or some shit, she is closer to Godhood than Dryads for example.

Also, there are many Nymphs that are even more godly than Naiads. Nereids for example were fifty sea-nymphe daughters of Nereus the old man of the sea. They were goddesses of the sea's rich bounty and protectors of sailors and fishermen, coming to the aid of those in distress.

Children of Nereus and Doris, both full gods.

Also Oceanids were three thousand goddess-nymphs who presided over the sources of earth's fresh water from rain clouds to subterranean springs and fountains.

Children of Oceanos and Thethys.

I don't think she is a Goddess, isn't she a Demigoddess? But I think you just generalized to fit into your comment.

What we learned with all this shit I wrote about Greek Mythology, the first Tribe of Amazon Queens were probably Minor Goddess, whose some might have died or lived depending on the Author.

Not really tbh. Diana is a brick while Thor can generate lightning, control weather, manipulate/generate cosmic energy, and recently generate Phoenix fire due to his genetics.

Although yeah their genealogy is definitely the most similar.

Definitely I would say that Thor and Wonder Woman have that similar fighting and warrior- like mentality.

Even the manner in which they talk is quite similar.

Wonder Woman. She and Thor are both royalty and in most interpretations their people are alive. They're just normally separated from their old friends and family for plot reasons. Both Themyscira and Asgard are based off of ancient mythological pantheons, whereas Superman's more of a scifi jesus allegory.
