Poll Who writes more entertaining comics: Geoff Johns or Jonathan Hickman? (15 votes)

Johns 67%
Hickman 33%

I vote Johns for pure entertainment, Hickman's writing is probably more profound though.

Geoff Johns easily. Green Lantern, Flash, Batman Earth One, Teen Titans, JLA (Pre-New 52), Aquaman, Infinite Crisis, and Hawkman were all entertaining.

The only entertaining comics by Hickman was his Avengers run.

@ghostodoofus2: I started reading it, and it didn't hold my interest but I want to give it another shot.

@infantfinite128: That's how I felt about his Flash run, loved his GL, Aquaman, JL, Shazam and Action Comics runs though.

@ghostodoofus2: Understandable. It might be like Roger Stern's Spider-man run where it's best to focus on the family drama stuff until it gets really with the Reverse Flash stuff similar to how it got good with the Hobgoblin stuff (Will o' the Wisp was lame).

And the Gorilla Grodd stuff is an in-between highlight similar to the Juggernaut stuff.

Maybe if you skip ahead, you'll want to stick through it.

Eh, Hickman's fan service feels more relevant to his storytelling than Johns.

On first look the Johns stories are far more entertaining, like a Michael Bay movie. While Hickman's ones tend to be entertaining and mindblowing once you read the whole thing.

You guys never liked his FF stuff? I haven't read the entire thing admittedly but that scene of Franklin turning Glactus into his herald is on of the most epic scenes in comics ever IMO.

Can't decide. Hickman has been amazing throughout, from god doom to house of x, Johns has had his ups and downs. Doomsday clock and 3 jokers were some steaming piles of shit though.

@jashro44: I never got to that point so I might agree but I tried reading his Fantastic Four twice and it didn't hold my interest.

Vote: Johns.

Hickman's run on FF was epic.

Johns run on GL was epic as well.

Johns did more, both in quality and quantity. The guy literally reinvigorated the GL mythos. For years to come or rather, decades to come.

Now it does seem Hickman is doing that with X-Men and Krakoa and all that, but we have yet to see how that will develop in the following years.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They are both in my top 20 fav writers so there's that.

Hickman’s F4 and Avengers runs were/are incredible, but I prefer Johns
