who should kill thanos in Avengers 4
Yeah, that.
Or he shouldn’t die period. Thanos shouldn’t be the kind of villain you can out-punch to save the day.
Nobody. He should just lose on purpose like in comics and move on. They were building him up for way too long to just kill him.

Given their work to humanize Thanos and push the "see, he's got feelings!" angle, I could see a them having an idea kicking around in their heads of a (somehow) resurrected Gamora having an emotional scene in which she talks about how complicated her relationship with him is, how she both loves and hates him, how things broke and how they can be fixed...only for her to stab him to death for real this time, while he looks shocked at her, and she looks equal parts satisfied and guilty. That way it's tragic, and they try to get the audience to feel sad at his passing, rather than jubilant.
Not saying it's the best end or anything, just in keeping with themes established in Avengers 3.
@krleavenger: How did Thanos lose in the comics?
If they did that in the movies then that would be lame, tbh. All this build-up and he just stops by himself. It will make all the hype unworthy and for nothing.
@worldofthunder: He didn't "stop by himself". He was defeated. It was just later revealed that the only reason why he lost the gems was because he wanted to.
@krleavenger: Why? In what story?
Nobody. He should just lose on purpose like in comics and move on. They were building him up for way too long to just kill him.
@worldofthunder: I'm talking about Infinity Gauntlet arc. At first Adam Warlock told Thanos that he knew that the only reason why Thanos lost the Infinity Gauntlet, and even back then, when he used Cosmic Cube against Mar-Vell and lost it, in both of those instances Thanos knew deep down that he's not worthy of possessing Omnipotence, which is the reason why he lost it both times. At first he denied and thought that even Omnipotent beings make mistakes, but he accepted the truth.
Later however, in one of more recent Thanos stories written by Jim Starlin (the guy who created Thanos and wrote most of his stories, including Infinity Gauntlet), it was actually revealed that Thanos gave up the Gauntlet on purpose because he looked into all of his futures and knew that he was destined to lose the gauntlet, and he accepted it instead of keeping it. Whether this is a retcon or simply further provided context is debatable (I guess it's the latter).
The issues I'm referencing are Infinity Gauntlet #5 and Thanos Annual Vol. 1 #1.

@krleavenger: Okay, thanks.
@oceanmaster21: no. Lol, the comics don't translate and Drax is severely too underpowered to do that
@quantum-savage: the question was who should kill him i saying drax because of comics, so it be epic to see him do so
Out of the list Captain Marvel. Otherwise Hulk, he should get a major power up in Avengers 4 or even become World War Hulk
@plotweapon16255: Thanoscopter tanks all lol.
No one should but if I had to choose one it would be Thor. That being said if they do kill him off it will likely be Captain Marvel that does it.
If A4 was written by me, I'd have Thor and Captain Marvel fighting Thanos. Thanos would take them both out, but just before Thor does down he throws stormbreaker and breaks the infinity gauntlet. Then Dr Hulk (Hulk's strength with Banner's intellect) would have a hand to hand rematch with Thanos, and knock him out. Tony would make a pseudo infinity gauntlet, which Cap will then use to reset the universe. Thanos survives, but is imprisoned on a newly rebuilt Asgard.
Drax and Nebula should have the pleasure of killing Thanos. Nebula is a tortured soul and Drax's family can be avenged. Then again Cap or Iron Man may deliver the deadly blow. More than likely
@alavanka: That sounds super dope! Only thing is we wouldn't get to see a final combined assault from Thor, Dr.Strange, Wanda, Vision, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Hulk etc. unless that is attempted and fails earlier on in the movie which would still be crazy to see!

I imagine it would be like everyone versus Thanos, but everyone falls one by one. Eventually, it would just be Thor and Captain Marvel. They go down, but manage to break the gauntlet. Then Hulk gets a 2nd wind and faces Thanos in hand to hand.
@alavanka: Oh yes I see that would be amazing...
@tenguswordsman: my man.
