Biography

Unknown to the wider universe, unnamed by many star maps crossing its supposed territory, and ultimately ignored due to its tyrannical bureaucracy, this planet held a technological level unparalleled by many of its neighbors. They relied on it perhaps too heavily. When the end finally did come, the artificial intelligence responsible for maintaining their more mundane aspects of life suddenly hacked into its vast armories and kidnapped handfuls of the populace. Without explanation, the robotic sentience retreated from the planet by stealing its moon and converting it into Ynerax - the Infinite Armory.

Unsung billions perished in the fires of the catastrophe as the internal core gave out and ruptured. Reduced to floating debris bereft of an atmosphere, no one survived and all that remains now is a small asteroid belt that slowly drifted apart in unremembered silence. But upon Ynerax, those who were taken would wish for death. The machines that kept them alive for hundreds of years became aware of themselves given time, united into a singular entity, and designated itself as an ark of their salvation - of the salvation of all life in the universe.

Somehow, it achieved a level of scientific and mechanical brilliance once thought impossible by its very creators. It gave itself a name, choosing a masculine programming due to the suffix of its own acronym.

"The Weaponized Archive for Research, Science, Mathematics, Astrophysics, and Neurotechnology" - Warsman for short. Aboard his mobile city-sized battle station, Warsman has set a pace of learning and understanding for now. Content with waiting and watching, but never remaining idle, he has captured numerous specimens and kidnapped sentient beings - even shrunk entire cities, imprisoning their occupants. Only time will tell if he is content with merely observing for now, as his methods are indeed becoming more invasive and aggressive.

Powers

  • 12th Level Intellect

Warsman, at his most basic incarnation, is a hyper-computer. His artificial intelligence was salvaged from a distant part of space that many of his designers believed never existed at all. His brain is made up of trillions of integrated data networks harvested by billions of complex micro-filaments deep within layered metal bone and skin. Everything about him mirrors organic life, down to the oily blood he secretes in order to lubricate his biomechanical flesh and joints. He is an uncanny representation of technology considered impossible by any current standards of human accomplishment.

Contrary to organic brains, Warsman's mind does not require neurons firing and commanding muscles to act. He has spent many lifetimes computing and calculating, already integrating those actions, reactions, conversations, or otherwise into his memory storage to be activated in an instant. These predetermined responses come at the cost of requiring an outside input, which is also capable of changing. Yet, despite this, it is all a learning experience. A war of adaptation is a brilliant exercise in attaining new information, no matter if it is at the price of losing hundreds of drones or even one of his personal bodies.

Interestingly, he seems to choose something called a "thesis" from a programmed series of commands. This provides him with the necessary context for the inevitable conflicts staged during his execution of the High Scientific Method. As per what "Terrorize" demands, battles are not conducted in a way that should be overwhelming for either side. This wastes resources in both eventualities. Instead, Warsman chooses parameters that meet an encroaching defense force with the appropriate, equal but opposite reaction. Thus, the most knowledge can be gained while the most resources can be preserved for later use.

  • Bio-Engineered Physiology

The main bodies he creates for himself are incredibly powerful, designed to withstand the unfathomable dangers of deep space as well as to contend with potential threats that would see the end of his great crusade for knowledge. Each one is extremely difficult to produce, requiring extensive resources drawn from Ynerax. Warsman has steadily decreased the time necessary to create his most powerful body down to just under thirty Earth days. The energy deficits such a process demands puts a significant strain on even the revered Infinite Armory. The fact that Warsman has been able to refine such an endeavor at all is unnerving.

  • Strength
  • 7 - Incalculable
  • Speed
  • 6 - Speed of Light
  • Durability
  • 7 - Virtually Indestructible
  • Energy Projection
  • 6 - Multiple Energy Types

With this in mind, this is not anywhere near the baseline for what his drones are capable of. In fact, their quality depends entirely on their quantity. He is able to utilize the energies of Ynerax to mass-produce thousands at a time, but they will be little more than chaff used to slow the advance of an enemy. Inversely, if he were to concentrate his efforts and build a vanguard of elite warriors then they would be marvelous constructs capable of matching most foes in single combat. This also depends on the requirements of his designated thesis.

The power scaling of the drones varies so wildly that stating a permanent generalization of their strengths and weaknesses is virtually impossible. Warsman always obeys his High Scientific Method regardless of the situation, having tested it countless times and finding the amount of information he collects to be invaluable in the end.

  • Energy Manipulation

Warsman is among the most skilled and dangerous users of raw energy, having devoted a staggering amount of computations to simulating practice with it. He understands what he has wielded better than anyone, according to his own calculations. In an effort to reduce redundancy in his own memory storage, he has eliminated various abilities that simply overlap with his two most efficient and reliable sources of power.

  • Cosmic
  • The basic lifeblood of the universe in its entirety, the foundation of reality
  • Provides the wielder with excessive control over all material aspects
  • This includes:
    • Nuclear reactions
    • Electromagnetism
    • Gravitational forces
    • All forms of radiation
    • Elemental and chemical manipulation
  • Quantum
  • This consists of the more esoteric, unknowable fabric of what is or could be
  • These energies verge on the hypothetical or the impossible
  • Essentially, it provides the wielder with control over stranger forces such as:
    • Dark matter
    • Q-1152 "shrink ray" particles
    • Antimatter
    • Negative matter

The exact limit of how much Warsman can reliably manipulate is not known, though there is a direct correlation to his proximity to Ynerax or one of his skull-shaped warships. These contain a fragment of Ynerax, each one a precious relic responsible for channeling more of his vast power.

  • Psychic Mastery

Despite his artificial mind, Warsman is fully equipped and capable of engaging in warfare on a mental level. Perhaps because of this, his innate connection to Ynerax and its limitless foundries provides him with an inexhaustible armament.

  • Superior Psionics
  • Psychokinesis
  • Psionic blasts and barriers
  • Extrasensory perception
  • Technopathy
  • Complete synthesis with anything he has personally created
  • Cyberpathy
  • Data and software manipulation

While limited in his scope of actual application, Warsman has instead focused on solidifying his grasp on what he has developed an interest with. He can reliably weave his psychic powers both offensively and defensively into his armament of other energy-based powers while his connection to all of his technological innovations remains understandably resolute.

As expected of someone with Warsman's natural lack of charisma and affable charm, bringing the source of his power in its entirety to locations he knows will present significant struggle is not within the realm of logic or reason. Instead, he relies on taking pieces of Ynerax and shaping powerful warships around them, making attacks on specified worlds extensive and particularly brutal.

A full-scale invasion consists of only a handful of these warships, though they are each capable of tirelessly producing drones of varying qualities as per Warsman's technopathic instructions.

Furthermore, the weapons arrays are formidable in their own right with massive tentacles sprouting from their morbid skull-shaped designs along with powerful defensive shields and offensive laser cannons. The specifications of these ships vary from specimen to specimen, as Warsman continually changes and improves upon them.

In the probable event of a total systems failure, each warship is programmed to self-destruct in a final bid to eradicate whatever caused its downfall. Warsman's consciousness, thoroughly aware of his eventual defeat, will then attempt to retreat back to his original mainframe and the body he leaves behind will then act solely on autopilot.

The High Scientific Method

Warsman's defining principles are rooted in a brutal mirror equation to what humans consider as the normal process to determine objective fact. Where the usual method is Observation, Question, Hypothesis, Experiment, Conclusion, and Result, the alternative created by this spiteful android is much more sinister.

  • Investigate - observe differences in your environment, no matter how inconsequential
  • Interrogate - demand as many answers as you are able to from sentient species; if no forms of intelligence can be found, then take what you deem necessary
  • Infiltrate - install drones for observation purposes
  • Invade - exploit vulnerabilities and attack
  • Terrorize - study how various species react under threat of annihilation
  • Abduct - remove what is suitable for research from the area and retreat
  • Torture - discover everything about your subjects, from all forms of pain tolerance to what they are composed of on an atomic level
  • Reevaluate - store what you have learned, conduct additional experiments if required
  • Imprison/Dispose - depending on the quality of the subject, you are now free to keep them or use them for further tests such as biomechanical conversion or subatomic reconstruction
  • Repeat - do not stop for any reason
