    Gwen Stacy was the first true love of Peter Parker. She's best known for her tragic death by being thrown off from the Brooklyn Bridge by the Green Goblin. The Earth-65 version is Spider-Gwen who is a major player in the Spider family.

    The Spider-Man movie started filming earlier this week and images of the set have already surfaced the internet.

    We see Gwen Stacy ( Emma Stone) at a cop's funeral. Gwen Stacy's father, George Stacy ( Denis Leary), is a police captain and if we take a look at the Stacy's history, their lives are cut short pretty quickly! 
    It seems the Death of the Stacys storyline will be included in this movie. Of course this is just speculation, then again if this is true do you think that it might be too soon to incorporate this story in the first movie of the Spider-Man franchise relaunch?  
    The Spider-Man movie will be  released in theaters nationwide in 3D on July 3, 2012.

    She looks good but she doesn't say "Gwen Stacy" to me so far at least. Maybe when the movie is out things will be different.

    Eh I think Emma Stone looks pretty great as Gwen no matter what people say but it is what the story will be about that bothers me.

    IS it possible that because of Glee scheduling she can't play Gwen in the movie? (Did she even audition?)

    No idea about the scheduling, but I'm pretty sure she auditioned. :)

    Emma Stone looks the part just fine. She's easy on the eye and seems like a pretty decent young actress. Not sure why people are so judgemental so early on. 
     
    It's the guy playing Spider-Man that has me a little apprehensive. Can't help but feel he may be just a bit too old for the role of a teenage Spidey.
