AbFP: Insurgency by Red-Rum-18
In the tunnels of a destroyed New York City, on an Earth different than the one we know, a team of soldiers approached Flash and Kid Flash, aka Barry Allen and Wally West, who are strangers to this Earth. They were tied up in electric bolas launched from the shadows by the soldiers. The leader of this team, Cmdr. Cassandra Cage, placed the duo under arrest. About 10 minutes later, the soldiers and Cmdr. Cage, calling themselves The Insurgency, brought the captured Flashes to their underground bunker deeper into the NYC subway tunnels. The Flashes were still tied, unable to use their superhuman speed, as they were interrogated by Cage. Primarily, Cage wanted to know if they worked for something they called “The Regime”. Flash denied anything about the Regime, but remembered something. Barry Allen, the human identity of The Flash, said that he and his fellow heroes used to work alongside Cassandra Cage’s parents, Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, but that “Cassie” was just a toddler at the time. Cassandra revealed that she and some of her fellow Special Forces agents were caught in a temporal vortex and were brought here, along with others. Cassandra decided that they needed to free the Flashes and they can help each other with the current situation. Cassandra freed the speedsters, and then brought them to the main part of their headquarters. The powerless soldiers raised their guns to the Flashes, but Cmdr. Cage ordered them to stand down. She introduced them to other members of the Insurgency, who all had been trapped in temporal fluxes that brought them together. Alongside her fellow Special Forces agents, Jacqui Briggs, Kung Lao, and Takeda Takahashi, we have Kenshi Takahashi (Takeda’s father), Nightwolf, and Fujin (an Elder God from Cassandra’s homeworld of Earthrealm). We also have Bigby Wolf, a werewolf detective, Grifter and Voodoo, two metahumans who work for another Earth’s DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations), Icon aka Augustus Freeman, a humanoid alien with various powers, the Ninja Turtles, a family of mutated turtles who know martial arts, and… Sonic? Barry immediately recognized Sonic the Hedgehog, a speedster alien he worked alongside once before, but this Sonic never met his universe’s version of Flash. Now with both the Flashes and the Insurgency working together, Barry told Cassandra that they were trying to rescue the Batman (aka Dr. Thomas Wayne) from a team of government-employed supervillains called The Suicide Squad. Cassandra decided to help Flash and Kid Flash rescue Batman, but only if they agree to help them fight the Regime and end whatever evil they are planning. In agreement, the Flashes and the Insurgency mobilized to trace Batman’s signal using a device he left the Flashes. Soon enough, they found another bunker in the ruins of NYC, manned by both US soldiers and other members of the Suicide Squad. These supervillains, named The Weasel, Javelin, Crazy Quilt, Calendar Man, and Blackguard, aided by the US soldiers, battled the combined strength of the Flashes and the Insurgency, and, in the end, Batman was rescued and brought back to the Insurgency’s base. However, someone else got a lock on the Batman’s tracer signal… Back at the Insurgency’s hidden base, Batman talked with the Flashes and Commander Cage about their plan to find a nexus point in London, England to allow the speedsters to return to their Earth, and Batman agreed to work alongside the Insurgency to defeat the Regime. But then, the sealed door leading directly into the Insurgency’s base was busted down and a lone figure stood as it was confronted by the Insurgency’s foot soldiers. They demanded the figure to identify itself and he simply said…
”I am all of me.”

*Kung Jin is the younger cousin of Kung Lao.
*Jacqui Briggs is the daughter of Jackson “Jax” Briggs.
*Takeda is also the student of Hanzo Hasashi, formerly the revenant called Scorpion.
**In the universe Takeda and his fellow Special Forces members were from, Scorpion became Hanzo Hasashi again following the defeat of the dark sorcerer who resurrected him: Quan Chi.
*Kenshi, father of Takeda and wielder of the magic katana Sendo, is blind, but a powerful psychic. He is also teaching his son their family’s powers as psychics.
*Fujin, Elder God of Wind, is the brother of Raiden, Elder God of Thunder.
*Nightwolf is a Native American warrior utilizing various magics from his people’s lineage.
