I realized that there are several characters nowadays that don't interact with other characters as often as they used too(ie. nightcrawler and cyclops) so I was wondering, If you could pick 5 X-men to form a new team, which five would you pick? Excluding Professor X, Magneto, and Phoenix.
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13422 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Ideal X-Men Team
Cyclops the leader...best X-Men leader ever, though I think Havok is pretty good
Beast is the brains and can mix it up
Iceman is the area of effect guy
Madrox the manpower
Rachel the telepathic tracker
Cannonball, Husk, Chamber, Blink, Warpath
Cannonball the leader, Husk is a nerd in the original series and tech chick so she would feel the brains role, in Gen X also chamber power was hinted at being way more then what he could do, in this series he would reach that potential be able to work as the team telepath along with flying and other stuch, Blink a teleporter the 616 version needs some development and should have some sort of chemistry with her orignal Gen X members, and Warpath has a bit of history with cannonball and would work as the muscle / bad boy of the group
My New X-Men team will have the same premise and mission statement as the New X-Factor team I made up in this thread. Hellion, Surge, Mercury and Rockslide are losing interest with the affairs of the X-Men and wanted to try living on their own. They eventually found out that being trained to be an X-Man doesn't give them a lot of skills to survive in the real world. So, they decided to become Mutants for Hire (similar to Heroes for Hire) and was eventually hired by SHIELD to become the face of their efforts to keep the peace between humans and mutants.
Include Dust and that's definitely the core of the Academy X brand. But after all that recent crap with Laura I'd say she'll have to earn her membership lmao
The OP specified that we can only have 5 in our ideal teams so, I picked the 5 that I liked the most out of the Academy X cast. But, if I can pick more than five, I'll add in Pixie, Loa, Anole and Dust (but, she will only have a supporting role). That's way too much characters though, so, I will make Laura Kinney as a substitute member and give Pixie or Loa a more permanent role.
I know I want Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Kitty (with Lockheed), and Colossus, but I can't think of a fifth one.
Karma, Colossus, Idie(pre JGS screw you Logan), Cable, and Box. With a pimped out Blackbird as an honorary number six.
It's actually gonna be an X-Force, but sure we can call it the X-Men.
Aye, I love alot of those guys who don't really get much page time. I know a book with just them would be hard to sell, but if you added like idk Gambit, who i think would fit well with the group btw if we were going for more then 5, you could boost the sells on that one character alone (kind of how they did with x factor too) and then it would just depend on the writing, people would by the book for the one extremely popular character then if the writing was solid they would grow to love the rest of the team at least thats the theory lol
Storm
Jean Grey
Rogue
X-23
Jublie
and it could be another new xx-men team(although i would like jean as leader :P)
@hopesummersforthefuture: Thats what I was so going for a new X-Men team, but yeah Jean is the leader in my team I just did them out of order.
1. Storm (leader)
2. Rogue w/ Ms. Marvel Powers (the muscle)
3. Wolverine (most durable)
4. Nightcrawler (teleporter)
5. Jean Grey (mental link)
1. Iceman (Power)
2. Jean Grey (Telekinesis)
3. Blink (Team player)
4. Colossus (Strength)
5. Deadpool Beast (Leader)
@william300: so close to my team lol.
Leader/Elemental- Storm
Tech/H2H- Beast
Stealth- Gambit, Nightcrawler
Tank- Colossus
@xwraith: how about Storm or Cyclops for a good field commander? They would be nice additions to your already versatile and powerful team.
Storm
Nightcrawler
Gambit
Emma Frost
M
Storm and Nightcrawler have been around forever, but they haven't had any great stories since the 80s. Gambit has never had a great story. Emma and M would make for some interesting interactions with the other three.
Just five? Wow, actually kind of tough to do. Let's see...
Gambit
Psylocke
Storm (leading)
Bishop
Morph (from the Exiles, just for a little humor)
My team would be different than the one I listed in another post. This has to be an ideal team, people seen in public and represents the mutants by the superheroes of Earth.
For starter, I would need to have Rogue.
- Life-Force absorption
- flight
- superhuman strength
- superhuman speed
- superhuman durability
Rogue can drain/steal the memories, personality, powers, natural skills, special attributes, and energies from a person by force. She can give a draining, worst case killing, effect on the targets if she wants to. Rogue has the physical stats of Wonder Man, who is faster than lightning and can lift over 100 tons. Rogue at her best can maintain the experience, skills, and powers of multiple the other members at once, being the strongest and versatile member.
Next is going to be Nightcrawler.
- teleportation
- superhuman reflexes
- very agile
- master swordsman
How Kurt's body is structure; he is very agile, can crawl on walls, and has developed a fighting style perfect for his power. He can teleported Captain America to the North Pole from Manhattan in 4 trips.
Cannonball is capable of surrounding himself in an impenetrable, invulnerable force field and rocketing himself at incredible speeds, similar to flight. After training, he can extend his force field and project his field as an attack.
- Force field (invulnerability)
- energy projection
- flight
- super speed
Another is must have X-men is Jean.
- telepathy(mind reading, psychic shield, mind control, mental paralysis, etc)
- telekinesis
- astral projection
- multi-tasking
Jean Grey is an omega level mutant. She can do pretty much anything with her mind ranging from memory manipulation to cloaking her mind and everything in between. She can link her mind to the rest of the team so that they can talk. Her main ability is multi-tasking because she can do about 3 telepathic abilities and lift a building all at once.
Scott Summers is the leader of the team.
- Optic blast
- great tactician
- spatial awareness
- martial artist
Cyclops is one of the best leaders in the Marvel universe. He can level out a forest in his field of vision. He can ricochet his beams to hit multiple targets, which is amazing given his spatial awareness and he knows every to put the other members.
Last but not least is Iceman
- ice/cold generation
- ice form
- ice constructs
- ice clones
Iceman is very powerful as he is also an omega mutant. He can freeze almost anything in a block of ice, he created a massive continent size iceberg in a few seconds on Mars. He can cover his entire in ice to become invincible, as in he can not be destroyed while in this form. Iceman can create pretty much anything from ice; shields, walls, ramps, slides, spikes, spears, battle axe, hammer, or a sheet of ice.
