THE CHARACTERS AND SETTINGS ARE THE WORKS OF AN ORIGINAL FICTION.

Immortality: Tales of the Undead- Blood Drive

Jay Hawkins had always been the toughest rider in town. But he gradually took a risk of winning the races as far as possible. In fact, he had taken something out of the ordinary. And that was... terrifying.

Jay recalled some drug that gave an energy boost in order to win the next race. But he didn't realize what it could give him, in terms of side effects. That was one reason, why he couldn't let it slip under his nose, including his opponents. They drove as fast as they could to win the next race. But it turned out that Jay had won again.

Damn it, Craig Winslow thought. Craig used to be one of the toughest racers, since he took a heavy road trip, and decided to go for the illegal championships. So far, they hadn't been caught racing and despite the authorities, checking on them as always, they wouldn't dare come in their tracks because one of the senator's boys was too involved in the race. Craig was that boy.

But the truth was that Craig was entirely jealous of Jay's winning streak. Even his girlfriend dumped him, and went out with the winner himself. Craig was furious alright. So, he decided to do one thing that he should have done a long time ago. To find out Jay's secret.

One night, Craig had trespassed Jay's property while the winner went out to have some wild party, including his new girlfriend. Craig didn't feel like going there because he felt like a loser. He used to win those races even before Jay arrived in town. That was the time when he started to show his amazing, driving skills. But the fact remained clear that he was always winning, and that Craig didn't like it one bit.

It could be those steroids, Craig thought. Yeah, he figured that could be it. But was it? He didn't know. But he would have to find out, eventually.

When Craig entered the bedroom, he looked everywhere. It was pretty messy. Something stank, and Craig couldn't tell what it was or where it came from. He didn't want to think about it. He entered the bathroom, and opened the cabinet. He noticed a bottle of red pills, which he hadn't seen before. Of course, he hadn't seen it. He wasn't some kind of pharmacist, who knew such things. He read the label anyways, which only said this.

Drac

Drac? Craig thought. What the hell is that? It sounded like a drug, but the name was strange though. He read at the back to read more instructions. But there were none.

Hmm... Craig thought again. Maybe... He paused and wondered if he could take one of the drugs or Drac. But he was afraid of what might happen to him. Even without the instructions, there could be side effects. So, he thought of another idea. He put the bottle back on the cabinet, and went outside. He waited to spy on Jay, taking the drug itself. Then he would know...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few hours later, Jay had returned home. He was dead tired already. But he planned to take the drug for the next day of the race. He smiled at the thought of it. His new girlfriend, who recently dumped Craig, had rough sex with him. She said she had never felt that kind of sensation before. But Jay had reminded her that it was the blood rush or something... She laughed at that, but cared less about it.

When Jay entered the bathroom, he opened the cabinet. He grabbed the bottle, and swallowed one pill. He remembered that these pills were made quite a long time ago. There were rumors that it came from a long-time warlord who had existed in the Romanian history. He laughed at that absurd thought. He didn't come to the drugstore to learn some history lesson. He only wanted to take it, so he could feel better. But the pharmacist said it was true. That the drug could heighten human senses to a point that he was aware of his own surroundings. When Jay had taken Drac for the first time, he felt... powerful.

And that's when the winning streak started. Jay felt the blood rushing through his veins. He could see everything, and hear sounds from far away. He couldn't believe it. He even laughed while he practiced driving for the next race.

But then there was a side effect. After coming home, Jay craved something more. And it wasn't something that he didn't expect. Despite all those missing people out there, he needed their blood. He had to win the next race. And he also needed the money.

Now that Craig knew the secret, he also knew that Jay was also a killer. He decided not to tell the authorities about it, because they wouldn't believe him, not even the son of a senator. He wanted to deal with the monster while driving for the next race. He figured that if he had taken the drug earlier, he could win this time. But he didn't, because he was afraid the drug might turn him into a monster himself.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, both Craig and Jay raced... Jay laughed maniacally and said to Craig on the side that he was a f***ing loser. But Craig said, "No, Jay. You're the loser." He slammed his car with his own, and Jay bumped up towards the ceiling.

"You b@$t@rd," Jay said angrily. "I'll kill you." His eyes were bloodshot red, and this made Craig a little bit spooked. As if Jay hadn't slept for a long time.

Craig slammed the car again. And this time, Jay fell over the cliff without knowing what would happen next. He was totally interrupted by Craig's defense mechanism. He became so overconfident that he couldn't think clearly. Again that blood rush...

"AAHH!" Jay felt the pain. He had a headache as if something was about to explode. But it was his car that blew up after it came tumbling down. Craig stopped his car, and noticed the fire.

Thank goodness, Craig thought. Now he could go back to his winning streak. But first... he needed to get rid of those pills before anyone could find them. Or maybe...

I should just keep them, just in case.

Next story- Midnight Snack.
