Grant Morrison's Batman and Gerry Conway's Spider-Man immediately come to mind. Not sure about the rest. I've realized I need to actually read more comics lol.

I didn't consider his X-Men in my top 5 since thinking about re-reading it with all the drama is overwhelming, but I did think peak Claremont was among greatest Marvel comic writing ever up there with Stan Lee's Captain America.

Please share others if you can think of them. Thanks!

  • Ultimate Spider-Man by Bendis
  • Avengers by Jonathan Hickman

That's surprising, I never see people mention this run. What do you like about it?

Oh geez. This changes fluidly over time. But, let’s see:

Chris Claremont’s Uncanny XMEN/XMEN

Geoff John’s Justice Society of America

Jonathan Hickman’s Fantastic Four

David Michelinie‘s Amazing Spider-Man

Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman

… for now..in no order

1. Morrison's Animal Man
2. Ennis' Hellblazer
3. Moore's Swamp Thing
4. Ellis' Strange Kiss/Killings/Gravel
5. Ennis' The Shadow (not a run per se because Ennis only wrote the first 6 issues, but his "The Fire of Creation" storyline just goes hard, from the first issue up to issue #6, the comic hooks you in, nothing is wasted in each page)

Great top 5! Did you read Geoff Johns' Flash? If so, what did you think? It was my favorite Geoff Johns' run besides his Green Lantern!

@infinitehope: Read it twice, it's ok. Didn't like it the first time, read it a second time just to make sure I didn't misread it.

Claremont´s X-Men is the best by far.

Other that I like: Uncanny X-Force, Frank Miller´s DD and Garth Ennis´ Preacher.

I liked how fleshed out Cap's characterization was!

Great tease for next time around!

I didn't remember you previously listing Jonathan Hickman's Fantastic Four so I'm interested in trying reading it again.

Really need to read JSA since I've seen you bring it up multiple times and you have Black Adam as your avatar!

Thank you. What is your favorite Claremont X-Men arc?
