As a half elder god Thor has a very powerful god-force within him, and that gives him alot of powers including energy manipulation(supposedly equal to silver surfer's) , teleportation transmutation, fight(he can fly or at least levitate without Mjolnir ) etc.

Why doesn't he ask someone like Odin or Silver surfer or even Loki to teach him ?

And how powerful would he be if he were to master it?

I'd say one thing Thor could definitely add to his power set is some sort of mastery over Magic. Pretty much all elder gods have great innate magical power as does Odin. So it stands to reason that Thor would also(probably more so than Loki) but him being a powerful mage would probably make him too powerful to be a regular hero.

Idk but I could see something big happening regarding Thor’s powers after war of the realms.

And also he can master his own god force,since he needs mjolnir to control it.

He really needs to learn he is so much more than Mjolnir.

JMS was exploring his elder god power before they ignored his stance and brought siege. I'd like him to comeback for thor.

They can barely handle a depowered Thor and are constantly humanizing both his powerset and persona. I don't think Marvel has the type of writer who could handle a more mythological/fantasy/sci-fi adventure Thor story that doesn't always take place on Earth.

@haveatthee: Could Grant Morrison do it? It doesn't have to be on earth. In fact i would prefer if Thor would to travel to other worlds and dimensions seeking himself, not only in his innate potential, but as a person.
