EB Shanks (when it was kid luffy) had already went toe 2 toe with Mihawk in a swordfight that, by Newgates account, was something spectacular.

Unless you think these 2 could give mihawk a high diff fight, this should be clear as to who would win.

Shanks had already had ‘Legendary/renowned’ duels with Mihawk, as quoted from Whitebeard; thus, their clashes had the requisite Haki, skill, and stat displays to get praised by a Yonko. In addition, Shanks purposefully let a sea king eat his arm to show Luffy the consequences of becoming a pirate, not because of the intuitively inactive implication his durability wouldn’t increase when using CoA: a Haki Shanks would need high adeptness to contest Dracule. Shanks remaining in character by overreacting to Luffy’s abduction isn’t a knock against the former’s martial prowess. Conclusively, while the nuances of this thread remain unknown, it still promotes great discussion value.

shanks oneshots both of them with haki alone, it is ridiculous to even try to compare them with endgame character that took out all the admirals (minus akainu and aokiji) effortlesly
