How do you determine who is more powerful?
I observed that many of you have a hard time determining who is more powerful especially when the two characters have different powersets. I hope what this will help with that problem. There are four things are crucial in deciding how powerful a character is. The first one is;
Range: Range is one of the deciding factors in most powersets, it is widely known that wider range equal greater power. For instance, telepaths that can affect a wide area are known to be very powerful, kitty pryde's phasing abilities can affect objects that are as large as a city.
Potency: There are different powers that do not have range in terms of power this is where potecy comes to play. Characters with adaptability, superspeed and shapeshifting do not necessarily require range so the strength and capability of their powers will be a deciding factor.
Versatility: The number of powers that a character has is very crucial because this gives the character an arsenal of abilities to use in battles. This is why magical characters are very dangerous.
Skill: Power without skill is a child holding a loaded gun. Skill helps develop powers and even helps granting that character a ton of versatility. For instance, telekinesis can be used to perform transmutation, healing, shapeshifting, energy manipulation and more but only when skill is applied to it.
Conclusion: So, basically Range and potency is raw power. You just have to look at what these four things and maybe add your own to avoid confusion.
Scaling is also a great way to determine a person's abilities.
NOTE: Powers and abilities that are not really touched on are also acceptable characters like jean, storm, exodus are good examples for this. So this abilities are also acceptable. High-ends are also acceptable.
Each user gets one vote per character, 10 or more votes are required to win a match if there is a tie, i'll give a day for it to be broken but if it isn't broken then i'll do it myself.
