Welcome to the Corporate Wars Tournament (2024 Edition)

This is a revised edition of the Corporate Wars Tournament that began many years ago by SirFizzWhizz/KaijuKing. For this tournament, you will create a team of street-level characters from any medium, choose a corporation to sponsor you and get perks from, and then participate in a CaV-style mission against another team.

Each match will involve a unique battlefield and mission. There are two ways to win: complete the mission, or defeat the opposing team. If a team is killed, they lose. If your team completes the mission before being killed off, you win.

General Rules

• 8 participants (can be increased to 12)
• 6 points to spend on characters, with characters ranging from 1-4 points based on physicals and powers.
• Once a character is chosen, they cannot be picked by anyone else.
• Video game and book characters get composite feats (as long as they remain the same point value).
• Canon tie-in comics are allowed (as long as they remain the same point value).
• Marvel characters are standard/base 616 versions. However, you can also choose characters from the Ultimate (Earth 1610) universe.
• DC characters are Post-Crisis/Rebirth.
• Everyone is in character and starts with their standard gear.
• No character can be amped above a 4-point character.
• Each team will get 1 full day of training together in order to get basic knowledge on each other and ensure decent teamwork. Every character on the team will also get an ear piece in order to stay in contact during the mission.
• There will be 14 corporate sponsors, and each one can only be picked once. Once a sponsor has been chosen by a participant, it cannot be chosen by anyone else. Each sponsor will have 3 perk choices, and you may only choose one perk for each round. If you make it to the next round, you can change your perk.
• Every battlefield will involve some amount of fodder, such as civilians and/or guards. They can be ignored, killed, manipulated, etc.
• You must have completed a CaV/tournament or have over 500 posts in order to join. If you do not intend to see this tournament through to the end, please do not join.

• 7 days to post
• If you need an extension, let me know before the 7 days are up and I will allow you a 3-day extension (for a total of 10 days). Only one extension per round will be allowed.
• Failure to post on time will result in disqualification and an automatic victory for your opponent.

Limits

• BFR, intangibility, teleporting, and transmutation as offensive attacks cannot be used on the opposing team's characters but can be used against summons, fodder, and gear.
• Teleportation/portals are limited to line of sight, and cannot be used to teleport within 50 feet of the mission's objective.
• Telekinesis and similar abilities cannot be directly used on the bodies of the opposing team but can be used on their gear, or against summons and fodder. TK blasts against the opposing team are allowed.
• Telekinesis and similar abilities are limited based on the lifting strength of each point value.
• Telepathy: mind reading and telepathic communication are allowed on everyone on the battlefield. Mind control, illusions, and other psychic attacks can only be used on summons and fodder. This also applies to soul abilities, pheromones, gas, and magic-based telepathy as well.
• Gear and hax must remain street-level.
• Summons made by your own characters cannot be better than 1-point characters. You cannot have more than 5 summons for the entire mission.
• Regeneration is limited to 616 Wolverine level, as in your character cannot have a healing factor that is better than Wolverine's and they must be able to be knocked out.
• Invisibility is allowed but it can only affect the sense of sight.
• Intangibility can only be used for 10 seconds at a time, with the user then being forced into a tangible state for 5 seconds before being able to go intangible again.

If you are unsure about any of the rules/limits, please ask! It is better to ask in advance than to risk being disqualified from going above the limits or breaking rules.

Characters

You have 6 points to spend on characters in order to form your team.

Essentially, 1-point characters are low-street, 2 and 3-point characters are mid-street, and 4-point characters are high street.

The criteria for each category is the maximum. If the criteria is wall level, then the character cannot exceed wall level but can be below wall level. If a character you want has the strength and durability of a 1-pointer, but the speed of a 3-pointer, they would cost 3 points.

Wall level refers to a standard brick wall. House level refers to a standard house. Small building level refers to a small building with 3-4 stories. Building level refers to a building with 5-8 stories, i.e. NOT a skyscraper.

Speed includes movement, reaction, combat, and attack speeds. A 4-pointer's speed cannot be hypersonic, i.e. higher than Mach 5.

For durability, a single strike that can destroy the object of that level should be enough to seriously harm your character. A 4-pointer must still be capable of being harmed by armour-piercing rounds or high-caliber rounds such as from long-range rifles, magnums, and heavy machine guns.

A bloodlusted Carnage should be able to solo your entire team in a random encounter under the limits/rules of this tournament, without taking any sponsor perks into consideration.

Low Street Level (1 point)

• Striking Strength: Wall Level (busting a wall in 1-2 strikes)
• Lifting Strength: 1 Ton
• Durability: Wall Level
• Speed: Arrow-Timing or Aim-Dodging (subsonic, under Mach 1)
• Energy Projection: Wall Level

If your character can bullet-time, even handgun bullets, they are too fast for 1 point.

Low-Mid Street Level (2 points)

• Striking Strength: House Level (busting a house in a few strikes)
• Lifting Strength: 5 Tons
• Durability: House Level
• Speed: Non-Casual Bullet Dodging (supersonic, Mach 1-2)
• Energy Projection: House Level

If your character can bullet-time automatic gunfire or deflect multiple handgun bullets, they are too fast for 2 points.

Mid Street Level (3 points)

• Striking Strength: Small Building Level (busting a small building in a few strikes)
• Lifting Strength: 10 Tons
• Durability: Small Building Level
• Speed: Bullet Dodging (supersonic, Mach 2-3)
• Energy Projection: Small Building Level

If your character can deflect automatic gunfire or react to sniper rounds, they are too fast for 3 points.

High Street Level (4 points)

• Striking Strength: Building Level (busting a building in a few strikes)
• Lifting Strength: 15-20 Tons
• Durability: Building Level (Can be resistant to small-caliber gunfire)
• Speed: Casual Bullet Dodging or Bullet Deflecting (supersonic+, Mach 3-5)
• Energy Projection: Building Level

If your character is faster than Mach 5 or can react to explosions, they are too fast for 4 points and above the limits for the tournament.

You can request any character, but if I do not know who they are, I will ask you to provide a RT and a point value for them. I will then check the RT, do some basic research, and confirm the point value. I am pretty fair about this, but I will quickly refuse characters I feel are too hax and/or above the limits. My ruling for the point values are final.

If other people complain that a character is worth more than their assigned value, either on this thread or by PM, I will reconsider. In order to ensure that this tournament runs fairly and smoothly, it is important for all participants to be honest about the worth of characters.

Corporate Sponsors

There are 14 corporate sponsors to choose from, and each sponsor has 3 perks to select from. For each mission, you get one choice of perk from your chosen sponsor, and you choose the perk after the thread is made and the mission is known to you. You may switch out your perk at the beginning of each round/mission. Again, each corporation can only sponsor one team.

The sponsors/perks are not meant to be equal or balanced. Some might be better than others depending on the team, the mission, the battlefield, etc.

Neutral fodder are civilians, workers, etc. Hostile fodder are guards, mercenaries, etc.

All companions (characters that join your team) will be 100% under your team's control and follow all directions/orders.

Abstergo Industries (Assassin's Creed)

1. Animus Device - Your team gets full knowledge of the opposing team.
2. Mental Conditioning - Your team becomes morals off.
3. Rings of Eden - Your team is equipped with a tactile force field that blocks arrows and small-caliber gunfire, up to 15 seconds of use.

Cyberdyne Systems (Terminator)

1. Hasta La Vista Baby - All of your team's ammunition is replaced with armour-piercing rounds.
2. I'll Be Back - The T-800 Model Terminator arrives to help your team. If he is critically injured, he will leave.
3. Judgement Day - All fodder are replaced with hostile T-600 Model Terminators. The ones who replaced hostile fodder will be equipped with arm-mounted mini guns and still retain their duties; the ones who replaced neutral fodder will not have a weapon and act as civilians, unless a threat presents itself, in which case they will attack.

Galactic Empire (Star Wars)

1. Lightsaber Upgrades - All of your team's sharp-edged weapons become plasma-edged.
2. Probe Droids - Every 10 seconds, your team is updated with the exact location of the enemy team on the map.
3. 501st Legion - Ten Elite Stormtroopers with standard blasters join your team.

International Genetics Inc. (Jurassic Park)

1. Clever Girl - Ten Velociraptors will join your team.
2. T-Rex Time - Summon one T-Rex into the battlefield via airdrop, at the location of your choosing. Your team will be aware of the T-Rex and its location at all times, but it may still attack your team.
3. Compsognathus - All neutral fodder get replaced by aggressive Composgnathus dinosaurs that will attack the enemy team on sight but ignore your team. Hostile fodder will ignore the dinosaurs.

OsCorp (Spider-Man/Marvel)

1. Spider-Sense Serum - One character on your team gets 616 Spider-Man's Spider Sense.
2. Pumpkin Bombs - Each character on your team gets 5 pumpkin bombs, which explode with the force of a grenade.
3. Goblin Hacking - Allows your team to hack into any tech on the battlefield or that your opponent has, but only one thing can be hacked at a time.

Queen Consolidated (CW Arrowverse)

1. Lian Yu - Your team gets 1 month of training and survival experience from CW Green Arrow and Deathstroke. This also results in perfect teamwork.
2. Mirakuru - Your team is given 2 doses of the Mirakuru serum.
3. Overwatch - Felicity Smoak from Team Arrow provides Wiki knowledge on your opponent's team and the battlefield. She can also hack into the security cameras and lighting systems on the battlefield.

Ryan Industries (Bioshock)

1. Big Daddy - Three Bouncer Big Daddies will join your team.
2. Hacking Expert - Allows your team to hack into all devices/tech on the battlefield, but not your enemy's gear.
3. Splicers - All neutral fodder will be turned into pistol-and-knife wielding Splicers that are aggressive only to the enemy team. Hostile fodder will ignore the Splicers.

Stark Industries (Iron Man/MCU)

1. Mark XLVI - One character on your team gets to wear MCU Iron Man's Civil War suit.
2. Iron Legion - Five Age of Ultron Iron Legion suits (controlled via AI by JARVIS) join your team.
3. EDITH - Your team gets full knowledge of the battlefield and 3 MCU Stark Combat Drones to aid you.

TranStar Industries (Prey)

1. Advanced Weaponry - Your team is equipped with some of TransStar's advanced weaponry: one EMP charge, one recycler charge, one nullwave transmitter, and a GLOO cannon.
2. Turret Time - Your team gets 10 minutes of prep on the battlefield, as well as 5 turrets to set up during that time. The turrets cannot be moved or set up once the battle has begun.
3. Neuromod Enhancements - Select one member of your team to receive the neuromod enhancement treatment. They get to use any 3 of the 7 neuromod abilities, with one use per ability: Electrostatic Burst, Phantom Shift, Kinetic Blast, Superthermal, Mimic Matter, Lift Field, and Mindjack. The 3 abilities must be chosen once the perk is selected, before the match begins. All abilities must abide by the rules/limits.

Umbrella Corporation (Resident Evil)

1. Raccoon City Incident - All neutral fodder are turned into zombies. Hostile fodder and enemy characters turn into a zombie upon death. Your team is immune to the virus, and zombies will ignore your team.
2. B.O.W. - Ten Ganados from RE4 (equipped with melee weapons) and three Lickers join your team.
3. I Sell At A Low Price - The merchant becomes available to your team and provides you with multiple standard gear options, right before the mission begins.

Wayne Enterprises (Batman/DC)

1. World's Greatest Detective - Batman digs up dirt on your opponent's team, providing you with full knowledge about them.
2. Shadow in the Night - Your team is immune to all forms of tracking and the battle takes place at night, during a full moon.
3. Alfred - Alfred provides your team with detailed knowledge of the battlefield and satellite tracking of the opposing team's location, updated every 10 seconds.

Weasley's Wizard Wheezes (Harry Potter)

1. Jinx-Off - Your team is immune to all forms of magic and telepathy.
2. Weather in a Bottle - Allows your team to choose the weather on the battlefield. Options include heavy rain, thunderstorm, snow, strong winds, clouds, sun, or fog. Your team is immune to the negative weather effects.
3. Firebolts - Three Firebolt broomsticks are supplied to your team to allow flight.

Weyland-Yutani Corp (Alien/Prometheus)

1. Surveying Worlds - Your team is given full knowledge of the battlefield and 10 minutes of prep. Prep can only be used to scout, strategize, and set-up; the fodder and the map itself cannot be affected/altered during the prep. Your spawn point can also not be changed.
2. Motion Tracker - All movement on the battlefield is tracked and relayed to your team. This includes your opponent's team, summons, and fodder. However, you cannot differentiate between them.
3. Xeno Clone - You may choose one character on your team valued at 1 point to clone. The clone also gets acid blood.

Wolfram & Hart Attorneys at Law (Angel/Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

1. I Got Me Some Mojo - Your team becomes immune to magic and all forms of tracking.
2. Always Another Apocalypse - You get Wiki knowledge of your opponent's team and the battlefield.
3. Nothing Stays Dead - Allows your team's characters to respawn at their starting location each time they die, up to two times each, with a three minute delay. If all team members are killed within the three minute time frame, they cannot respawn and the other team wins.

And I disagree with that, which is the problem with using characters for limits sometimes. Because Wolverine has way better high-ends than Bloodshot. And he's healed through being vaporized by nukes more than once. I take your using him as a limit to mean "your character must be susceptible to K.O. most of the time" in which the answer is yes.

Can you elaborate? I've read all of Ninjak's appearances and I don't think he's mach 3-4. He should be fine at 2 based on his other stats as well (sub-building level).

If the portals are movable, does that count as breaking the line of sight rule? Suppose the portal is created between two points in our line of sight, but then we move the thing the portal is created on. Would that break the LoS ruling in this case, or would it be permitted?

Because magic attacks are OP in a street level tournament.

For Gabimaru, he can no-sell piercing attacks from katanas and spears? That seems too durable for 2 if that's the case.

Levi for 2 is fine.

Rai seems to be above the limits for durability.

• Tanks a point-blank explosion. -Rai #1
• Tanks being punched through 2555 sectors and out of the bottom of New Japan into the vacuum of space with no sign of damage. He also appears to have grabbed a metal cable which stopped his momentum without his arm being ripped off. -Rai #1-2
• Tanks numerous blows from X-Eye with little to no damage. He also tanks crashing through over 3000 sectors of New Japan, which houses 500 million people. He then tanks being thrown from New Japan to earth. New Japan is 300 miles above earth. Rai essentially tanked atmospheric re-entry at terminal velocity. -Rai #8
• As is noted by Silk, this is not the first time a Rai has been thrown down to earth in this manner.We know that Rai VIII survived the same fate. -Rai #8

Just based off Bloodshot's speed, durability/regeneration alone, he's a 3.

• Bloodshot #28/Secret Weapons #21 - Blows up a brick of C-4 in his hands. Doesn't put him down.
• Bloodshot: Rising #7 - Is shot up by five soldiers with automatic rifles; isn't bothered.
• Bloodshot #5 - Is shot by a group of automated machine gun turrets. Just charges through them.
• Bloodshot #25 - Is shot in the head. Isn't fazed.
• Harbinger Wars 2 #3 - Has his hand ripped off and is pumped full of bullets. Fights through it.

• Bloodshot #2 - Dodges bullets fired at him. Deflects a bullet with his sword.
• Bloodshot #16 - Moves in front of a sniper shot after it's been fired to protect someone.
• Bloodshot #38 - Dodges a hail of bullets that were fired at him. The gun was locked right onto him as we see from the laser dot on his head.
• Bloodshot #39 - Dodges a flurry of bullets while charging his target head on.
• Eternal Warrior #5 - Deflects several bullets with a sword.

And based off the very limited RT for Livewire, being able to block bullets with electrical devices would make her a 2.

What does King of the Dead give Black Panther? And can high-caliber rounds penetrate his suit and harm him?

As I said in the rules:

If a character you want has the strength and durability of a 1-pointer, but the speed of a 3-pointer, they would cost 3 points.

So if he can casually dodge bullets, even if his strength/durability are wall-level, he would be worth 3 points. And how much do you think those guys are worth?
