Mary Jane Watson Variants Coming In June

Marvel has announced their latest variant cover incentives. We saw Gwen Stacy variants and the Venomized ones as well. In June, we'll see some Mary Jane Watson variants.

The covers will be popping up via different outlets today. Marvel has given us a first look at some.

I swear on my children's lives, I will NEVER buy another Marvel product if they create a MJ The Duck, Dr Mj or MJ Pool ( they already have a Spider MJ out there somewhere) from these stupid covers!

Two of the three are good. The Hulk one creeps me out.

Which one of these variants you thinks gonna get a solo by next year? My money's on the Doctor Stange one.

Get your wallets out (especially for the Venom one). These always spike early and fast. LCS's are going to be pushing the prices of these up before they hit the stands...

In addition to the Venom one someone commented above, they've also released Nova and Iron Man variants.

And Gwenpool, Iron Fist, Punisher, Captain Marvel, Spider-Gwen, Wolverine. The Nova one is actually a Champions variant, so I don't think the Nova solo is getting one.

Finally, Marvel showing some love for their greatest non-superpowered woman, Mary Jane.

"Hey guys! Remember that character we though no one cared about so we got rid of her and Peter's relationship and actually ended up pissing off a lot of our fans? Well, we could put them back together, but instead of that, why don't we just slap her face across all our covers for a month? Then no one will be mad about One More Day anymore!"

All that said, I did chuckle at the Punisher cover.

Also. "...I'm going to come to your house and rip up all your X-Men!" I thought Marvel was already doing that?

So when are they going to do Aunt May variant covers.

I'd say Iron Mary, Mary Pool or Spider Mary are more likely.

This seems strange to me. They treat MJ pretty badly nowadays.

Mary Jane is gorgeous, she even pulls a better Gwen than Gwen herself.

I'll make a prediction now: One of these variants will go on to inspire the creation of a character around them and have their own series. Just kidding, love Gwenpool. :P

Wasn't one of the things that lead to the bankruptcy of Marvel and the overall burst of comics in the 90s the proliferation of variant covers, leading to the over speculation by"investors" until the bubble burst?

How was that different than what Marvel and DC are doing now?
