They look to be in their 20s here, so I’m assuming they physically aged more as time went on, especially since Aang looks a lot older in LOK than here. Even Sokka does
Avatar Studios: Avatar and Korra Sequels on Paramount+ Announced
My guess is they are experimenting with this art; if it's still one and a half years to go, they are probably throwing the new art style -- 2D/3D blend with much more eastern anime influence -- to the table along with the designs and waiting for the reception to adapt accordingly. It will also probably look extremely different in motion either way.
My only problem is Aang's face as well; Toph, Zuko and Katara all look epic. Sokka is alright, but it's only profile.
Interesting. I get the feeling the style will probably go through several changes like Anthp was saying.
I think Sokka and Zuko look the best, even if it's just their profiles. And I agree with Aang's baby face lol. But it's fine. They might age a bit as well see them like both shows have previously done.
DO NOT NERF THEM !!

Update: There is virtually no update. This has to be the worst SDCC in years.
- No info on the Korra comic trilogy at all
- The next comic after Azula is...June and Iroh(what?)
- No info on the future of the novels
- No release date for the Republic City Supplement
- Nothing on Avatar Studios
Just a whole lot of nothing.
@tektonic: Can you explain to me what's the deal with this strike and what sag aftra even is? I tried to look into it, but couldn't find any proper explanation at first glance and wasn't curious enough to make sense of it and dig deeper. What's going on and why?

America has two large unions that represent there name sake workers. Writers Guild of America(WGA) and Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists(SAG-AFTRA).
Both are on strike demanding better pay/benefits among the following:
"With both the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA seeking new contracts that improve (nearly-nonexistent) streaming residuals, rein in the looming threat of A.I. and attempt to crack other considerable nuts, it will be later, not sooner, when both work stoppages achieve anything close to resolution."
TV Line has a fairly simple and straightforward explanation of the current situation:

@tektonic: Thanks.
Aang: The Last Airbender(Working Title) 2025 Voice Cast includes
Dave Bautista - Unnamed Villain
Eric Nam - Aang
Jessica Maten - Katara
Dionne Quan - Possibly Toph
Roman Zaragoza - Possibly Sokka
Hopefully this is a good sign for a big reveal at SDCC this year.

@geekryan: hype
Aang Movie delayed 3 months - until January 2026...
As per Variety and BoxOfficePro, the date switched from October 10th 2025 to January 30th, 2026.
https://variety.com/2024/film/news/aang-the-last-airbender-release-date-delays-2026-1235974936/
Just a bit over 3 month delay, which isn't big, but hard since we've already waited a substantial amount of time with little updates. Could be production falling behind deadlines or to avoid competition.

@tektonic: Damn...
Oh well, I can wait an additional three months. Also, please tag me here if there are anymore updates. I'd appreciate it.
I'm very curious to see how the new voice actors portray these iconic characters as adults!
Also, Dave Bautista is an interesting choice to join the cast. I saw a fan-cast of him as Combustion Man for the LA show and it got me thinking.
What if Combustion Man survived? Sokka might have an arch-nemesis, if Dave ends up portraying him lol
Small spoiler but apparently this is the voice actress for Katara in the 2025 movie: Jessica Maten -

She's perfect, mainly because she's Native American.
@static_shock: I saw a fan-cast of Dave Bautista as Combustion Man for the Netflix series, so that’s a real possibility!
