A cabal of supervillains lead by Lex Luthor, the MLF pushed for more and more violent acts committed by superheroes as to force the mankind into a war against all metahumans. Luthor's Mankind Liberation Front would secretly support such individuals to take advantage of the chaos, but the return of Superman however forced their hand to accelerate their agenda and search an alliance with Bruce Wayne. Wayne however played out Luthor when he discovered Lex secret weapon: Billy Batson. After all out war was preempted and the Front's many crimes laid revealed, Batman and Superman punished the MLF by sentencing their company and core members to attend to the wounded left behind by their engineered war profiteering.
