Booster Gold, Deathstroke, Suicide Squad, and Team 7 films?

David Goyer Expands the DC Cinematic Universe - Geek Magazine

What do you think? I want Arrow to be part of the shared universe, but Deathstroke HAS to get a better looking suit, his Arrow suit was "ehh".

As for the movies, I think it's a good idea to put out big names and a few not so big names as well. Personally, I'd like Booster Gold a lot. He seems awesome, plus I love time travel. He was supposedly gonna get a show a few years ago, but that seemed to get forgotten (Syfy Developing 'Booster Gold' TV Series). And he had a very minor easter egg in Man of Steel (Man of Steel' Booster Gold Easter Egg Hints at DC Shared Universe).

Better Comic Movies: Booster Gold - Nerdcenaries someones idea for a Booster Gold film.

What are your thoughts on DC putting out several low budget movies?

Batman vs Superman delayed a whole year!

Warner Bros. just announced that Batman vs. Superman has been delayed until May 6th, 2016. Earlier this afternoon, Batman News reported that Ben Affleck injured his leg, and production would be pushed back six weeks. I’ve still been unable to get confirmation on that story, but perhaps it had something to do with pushing Batman vs. Superman back a year?

The official reason given in the Warner Bros. press release was so that the filmmakers could have more time to “realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story”. Check out the full press released below for more.

BURBANK, CA – January 17, 2014 – Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that the release of Zack Snyder’s untitled Superman/Batman film has been moved to May 6, 2016, allowing the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the shift of the start of production to second quarter of this year. The Studio has also set a July 17, 2015, worldwide release date for its as-yet-untitled all-new Peter Pan adventure. Joe Wright will direct the epic live-action film about the boy who would never grow up, created by J.M. Barrie. The dual date announcement was made by Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President, International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

In making the announcement, Fellman stated, “We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases. We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.”

Kwan Vandenberg added, “We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next Super Hero film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever. The summer release corridor is also perfect for Joe Wright’s ambitious new Peter Pan adventure, reimagining the ageless story of the beloved and forever-young hero for audiences worldwide.”

Zack Snyder’s Superman/Batman film stars Henry Cavill, reprising his role as Superman/Clark Kent, and Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The film will also reunite “Man of Steel” stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane, and also stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince.

Snyder will direct the film from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer, from a story co-created by Goyer and Snyder. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan and Wesley Coller serving as executive producers.

The film is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, published by DC Entertainment.

My 1 Year Anniversary!

Yup, it's already(?) been a whole year. I was never really a lurker either, probably only 2 weeks in and I made an account. Kinda funny story as to why (at least I think so), I was cruising the Battle forums and saw this abomination: http://www.comicvine.com/forums/battles-7/deadpool-vs-superman-2628/ Of course I had to give my 2 cents, in the weirdest post I have ever made:

"Isn't dead pools swords made out of adamantium? If so they won't do anything to superman. In a superman/fantastic four story a laser made to cut adamatium hit supes and did nothing. And even if dead pool knows about kryptonite wheres he gonna get it? This isn't smallville you can't just look on the ground and pick some up. Superman could freeze him, put him in the phantom zone, or use pressure points to take him down. If supes wanted to kill him he'd melt off all his skin and freeze him or tear out his brain and freeze both his head and his brain from regenerating and put him on opposite sides of the universe."

That posted is dated 11 months and 2 days, but I am sure that was my first post? So something is screwy. Oh well, I have had a blast, and it's been good, but I am deciding to leave.

Just Kidding :P

Return to Krypton Review (Spoilers)

The Story:

I liked it, quite a bit. The story is nothing special, but it wasn't overly long and a chore to read in one sitting. It was better then H'el on Earth. I liked that the story happened all that the same time. there's a really cool fight were H'el fights superboy and supergirl at the same time, but hundred years apart as well. H'el seems to be a jobber more in this then he was in H'el on Earth though. Superboys death didn't piss me off like I thought it would , I actually kinda though it was cool. I found Superman to be a bit of a hypocrite in this though. He is trying to make history right (he is trying to make sure that Krypton dies) to save the Universe (choosing a few billion lives over a whole universe), but when a alternate future Jor-el is about to kill H'el, Superman says there's always a way. So kinda of wishy washy.

The Art:

I never had a "wow, that's bad" moment, it was a little heavy on fan service though. Mostly about Kara's costume.

Overall:

I'd say a 6/10, not bad, but I don't know if it was any reread value yet.

Unity #1 Smallville #19 Batman #25 Nightwing #25 Deadpool #19

This is what I just picked up and read today.

Smallville 19:

I liked this issue a lot, I haven't been to fond of this whole Wonder Woman arc. It made Superman really cool, but he really stole Wonder Woman's spotlight.

Spoilers:

Superman threatened Hades that he would throw him into space, it was kinda lame, but the only alternative to killing Faust, Hades agrees to go back to hell. Also Diana isn't wonder woman his ends up Agent Prince/ Punisher Woman.

3 out of 5 stars.

Unity 1:

It started of kinda slow with the random lady blogger. It was really cool seeing how all the Characters will fit together. Harada is hard to like or hate, he is a "good guy" in this, but In Bloodshot and HARD Corps he is the "bad guy". Eternal Warrior was a little disappointing, I expected him to have a Deathstroke level healing facter, so seeing him in a cast was strange. I loved his flashbacks, and him putting together a plan using all the battles he was served in. The Art is okay, but it kinda makes everyone look old. I don't know who old Ninjak is supposed to be, but he looks late 30s.Ninjaks tech was very cool. Also I loved the approach to Aric's forces and Russia.

Spoilers:

Ninjak had to sneak around both. Unity gets wiped out in like 4 pages. And Livewire isn't in it but maybe 1 page.

4 out of 5 stars.

Batman 25:

I liked this issue and I love origin story's so I have been liking Zero Year a lot. The "Dr. Death" story felt very "thrown in". It was cool to see Bruce and Gordon, But I really don't like that Bruce hates Gordon he seemed okay with him in the 0 issue. I'm interested with Gordon's connection to the death of Bruce's parents. I also liked seeing Batman deal with the police, it was fun to see and reminded me of the chase scene from Batman Begins. I didn't like the "sticky" tires thing though, it was a little weird. Also what's up with the Batcave why is it in the middle of nowhere? And those soldiers, I have absolutely no idea what was up with them. I has very surprised at the end when Lucius injected Bruce at the end.

Why the poop is the price so high? I don't know, but I actually really did like the feel of the cover.

5 out of 5 stars.

Nightwing 25:

I like this issue a lot, I really liked that Dick Grayson looks younger maybe 14 or 15?. The problem I do have is that Amygdala (I've never even heard of him before) seems too big for pre-Batman training Dick to beat. Also I didn't think Dick doing his best in the circus gave his friends a reason to hate him.

3 out of 5 stars

Deadpool 19:

Great issue, It was a great way to end the story. Deadpool have some serious character development in here. Deadpool possibly having a daughter is interesting. Cap saves the day just by standing in front of an entire army. My favorite part was the end when Captain America calls Deadpool his friend. Shalvey's art is super awesome. I liked how he actually drew Wolverine being short. Some artists forget that Wolverine is a little guy. I really want to see another story with these 3 teaming up again.

Rumor: Ben Kingsley’s “Secret Marvel Project” Is a New One-Shot Short Film. REAL Mandarin

Last week, Ben Kingsley got the attention of Marvel fans everywhere when he revealed he’d filmed a “secret project” for the studio. Kingsley had seemingly finished his role as the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, but this new information brought up a plethora of possibilities regarding the character. Studio President Kevin Feige wouldn’t comment on the quote, but basically acknowledged Kingsley had filmed something.

Well now, the Marvel masters at Latino-Review claim to have information on the “secret project.” First of all, it’s a One-Shot. That’s the non-spoiler. For more spoiler-filled information that’ll make your head spin, read below.

The rest of the post contained spoilers for Iron Man 3 as well as this potential One-Shot.

According to Latino Review, Kingsley will reappear at Trevor, the actor who played The Mandarin in Iron Man 3. However, the real Mandarin – you read that right – the real Mandarin is mad at the ruse created by Trevor and Killian and wants to set the record straight. If Latino Review‘s sources are true, Marvel is about to add a real Mandarin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When and where would this One-Shot appear? The next slot would likely be the Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray, but that’s just an educated guess.

Another question would be the reason for this swerve. Some fans (this one included) were a bit upset at how Shane Black handled the Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Time and time again, Marvel people assured us this Mandarin wasn’t like the one in the comics. There were no mystical powers. The film then, of course, took that one step further making Guy Pearce’s character “The Mandarin.” Well, bringing in a “real” Mandarin could placate those fans, and also start to tease toward Phase 3 where mystical characters — like Doctor Strange — are going to begin appearing.

The previous Marvel one shots: The Consultant, Item 47 and Agent Carter, have so far been more of a tease towards TV shows than movies. Maybe this “secret project” is finally bucking that trend.

Do you think this sounds plausible? When and where would a real Mandarin reappear? Iron Man 4? Avengers 3? Doctor Strange?

Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 16 Finale Reviewish SPOILERS!

This episode was great. Honestly I used to whine every time they changed something from the comic, but this episode sealed the deal, I loved it so much. Andrea is so different that I really didn't care if she died. Hershel is a bad*ss, I pitched a fit when Dale died, but Hershel takes his place and he's much better. I always like Hershel more in the comic as well. The whole plan to Kill/Scared the Governor was amazing, bout pooped myself when Glenn and Maggie were wearing the riot gear. Governor was awesome as well, he finally became as evil as I wanted him to be, but not include rape. not this episode but bother Meryl and that Scientist guy turned out to be heros IMO. And hopefully Tyreese is real cool. my only dislike was Carl's coldblooded murder, but whatever he does it in the comics too.
