If Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider was included in the MCU, would he have worked?

In times of crisis, when the only solution is to use the Infinity Stones or the Infinity Gauntlet, who will you trust most to do the right thing with unlimited power, Superman or Captian America Steve Rogers?

And why?

In the MCU, yes.

If I'm correct the actual Captain Marve, Mar-vell, debuted 4 years or so after the Avengers debuted.

The actual Captain Marvel debuted in 1940. :)

I see what you did there ;)

And 'comic book fans' still defend them...

While I understand why Marvel did what they did to Carol in both comics and films, I still believe in them as a fan because I think they still can make great stories :D

According to the Captian Marvel movie, the Avengers were named after Carol Danvers' nickname.

Did that really happen in the comics??

If I'm correct the actual Captain Marve, Mar-vell, debuted 4 years or so after the Avengers debuted.

And Danvers didn't take the mantel until 2012.

Read the articles and the comments. Isn't these complaints pretty similar to the complaints regarding Riri Williams (Iron heart), that the story written was just trying to shoehorn diversity/social issues without caring for the story, and the fact that the writer himself or herself is not representative of the diversity/social issues he or she is writing for?

I did read the article and the comment. But those who say that these issues shouldn't be addressed only know half the power that comics can have. Look at the great comic books that had something to talk about, Mouse, Watchmen, God Loves Man Kills, etc.

Comics can show diversity and social issues, but the public needs to stop complaining whenever a writer tries to tell a story and be patient until the end.

Yes, the story is an important part in comics but if the writer wants to attack a social issue then let him do it.

The topic of transgender has been done in the past, by DC in fact, but if Marvel wants to give it a shot from another angle then let them do it.

I was against some of the things that Marvel did, namely making Thor unworthy, and I know what they were trying to do. But I also like what they did with Kamilla Khan, Miles Morales, and their recent run with Iron Heart.

These are the right moves, and I still say that those who are now complaining need to stop and follow the story to the end.

And I assure if the character was indeed trans, then no one will leave Marvel and the outrage will be a hundred times more because they misinterpret the story and say "Marvel promotes trans viollence".

People need to stay calm and see the story through.

When you really think about it, any decision they make about any plotline will personally offend somebody. Vocal minority.

I remember when Namor joined the X-Men around AvX, a guy on her was livid that Namor was a FF character and this was betraying everything that defines him by joining the ‘pop music’ club.

Yeah, but this time people are getting offended by something that may not be even what they interpret it.

From what I read, there was no mentioning of her being a tran and i'm not the only one who thinks that. Also, a number of people who are knowledgeable about the character say that she was a lesbian, and some say that she was tran so the character herself has many origins.

The namour situation is nothing like this.

I just read a number of articles calling Uncanny X-men 17 a controversy.

These are the articles:

https://www.comicsbeat.com/uncanny-x-men-17-trans-panic-murder/

https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-x-mens-latest-death-highlights-why-marvels-mutant-m-1834502984

From what I get, the reason for the controversy is because of the lack of transgender characters.

As a comic book reader, and someone who is majored in Literature, I know how strong fiction can be and if comics wants to send a message of the issues that trans face they might have to use means that might cause outrage. If they included characters who are trans and then axe them off the outrage will not be stopped.

"How dare you do this"

"I was trying to make a point"

"By killing someone who looks like us?!"

The outrage will stop the cause, it will always do, that's why we need metaphor's to generalize and be careful with specifics.

What do you guys think?
