The only detail I can really remember from this issue was that Namor looked really drunk and disheveled. Oh and I think I remember Emma having a decent line or two. Not as many as I would have preferred but still.

As a Rogue and a Thor fan, this was underwhelming when I finally did get to read it. I can't remember it well, so I might be completely wrong, but I did think there were some sweet moments, I think... including one with Odin and Rogue-Thor.

I'd love a modern update to this What If, given how both characters have evolved so much since this issue came out.

@black_wreath: Yes Ember Moon, but not current Raw Ember, revised, actually is a werewolf dark entity, with powers Ember, more akin to the Undertaker. Like she doesn't drive to different Raw shows, or House shows... she runs really fast!! Also if she bites like say Mandy Rose... then Mandy Rose under the influence of the Blood Wolf Super Moon, then Mandy Rose will also turn into a werewolf, with new red contacts, new attitude and new theme etc then they become a faction, like the Brood/Ministry... no shut up, this is awesome!! >_<.

See its weird, because I agree with Seth, just think him and Brock's match would be ehh. Like man, imagine Seth vs AJ at Wrestlemania instead? Thats what I'd want. Alternatively, I'd love if Balor just beat Brock at RR and we got Rollins vs Balor at WM.

Yeah I can see that happening with Becky and Char and Ronda... and yeah that would be unfortunate for Asuka. Oh man, I'm on board with Mustafa Ali winning. I'd dig that.

I'd like that for Ruby, my assumption is (well my hope is) that they'll build her that way, but take it a bit slower, not necessarily a bad thing, but build her up a bit more before they start giving her wins. I think her character is the type that will need big wins to be taken more seriously, and not as a joke, but they aren't willing to give her big wins. I think she might actually be better off on Smackdown...

@black_wreath: I'm hoping... that the Woman's Rumble goes on last, and that in Becky and Asuka's match, Ronda Rousey interferes again, and costs Becky the title again. Then Becky is a surprise entrant, wins the Rumble and then decides to go after Ronda instead... have that headline Wrestlemania, have Charlotte challenge Asuka for Smackdown belt at Wrestlemania in a rematch. Thats my hope at least, I see Shayna Baszler joining Raw after Wrestlemania, and then WWE will slowly start building towards a 4 Horsewoman vs 4 Horsewoman match.

Or Ember Moon.

Men's Rumble... ehh. I'm not as specific. I'd love to see a NXT superstar win, and then challenge Bryan, and have that be an amazing match, but... and I do like Brock, but not really as champion, and I can't really think of matches I would like to see him in, where he wins... WWE hasn't really built up an interesting story. I would have enjoyed a slow Face Daniel Bryan feud, emphasizing Daniel's tenacity and submission prowess, but i actually love Heel Daniel Bryan and Brock doesn't really have long term extended feuds with people outside of Reigns and Strowman and I don't want to see those matches ever again... or Seth vs Brock either... uh maybe Drew McIntyre? Classic big man vs big man match, but I think its too early for McIntyre to lose or turn face and so like Heel vs Heel... then again if he wins and we see the Belt defended on Raw more... so yeah, Men's Rumble is too messy for me to really have a favorite.

Oh, well another long shot, Bray Wyatt. I've always liked Bray and if he was a surprise entrant and won, and they made him intimidating and relevant again, (and he's a character they could make extremely polarizing and political, either as a Face or Heel) and I am surprised they didn't lean the character that way - but treat him like a monster, I'd love to see him beat Brock and become an uber polarizing Raw figure. Creates so many contrasts and opportunities for feuds based on ideologies, with various wrestlers on Raw. I highly doubt this will happen though...

How about you by the way? Who are your picks.

@black_wreath: Haha, advice and recommendation noted. I can actually probably watch some of it tonight, I was going to watch the newest Black Mirror episode, but I know I'll probably like it, so time to give Titans a chance too.

Also thanks, hope all is well in Australia. Hope weather isn't too hot, its been mostly okay here but I know it can get pretty bad over there sometimes.

I really like blogs like this, where a user just talks a little bit about themselves, in a sincere and genuine way. Comicvine is a lucky website to have you as a part of its user base KrleAvenger, congrats on your various accolades (some I wasn't aware of) and keep up the good work.

I think there is some legitimacy in such a statement, its just a little tricky because audiences in modern times are also fractured in certain ways and trending towards that. At least as far as certain hobbies, interests. The more variation available in broader strokes, as how individuals can live their lives, the more nuance their personalities, tastes, activities, lifestyles. Which can lead to new developments, which can lead to greater amounts of options and choice. If we compare mythological stories, which have certain similarities, and differences usually being because of certain geographical differences, with modern literature… well thats a lot of time, and individuals in modern times have larger pool of experiences, knowledge, so on… even as little as 70 so years ago, world wide affecting events like World War 2, helped influence and popularize superhero comics. I am not that knowledgable on the subject in detail, but I have heard that 9/11 has also had certain smaller influence on a variety of creative fiction.

What I am trying to say is, there are more niches within niches, and for every individual that wants a more cynical, ethically ambiguous, tense tale of inner as well as out conflict, you'll have an individual that wants wish fulfillment fantasy with bad guys and good guys, and… a variety of individuals, who'll want bits and pieces that combine aforementioned aspects, and whilst this could be said to have always been accurate, the degree that it exists today…. another way to thin about it, is how many websites exist to cater towards people today, as their were 20 years ago.

Its going to make any general approach a bit clunky as far as appealing to a general audience, but perhaps certain elements, combined with elements from other approaches… also we have to factor in certain variables, like characters, expectations. Sometimes fine-tuning is required, a certain degree of balance. I personally really liked Grant Morrison's All Star Superman, it came across as optimistic and intelligent and self aware and witty, and positive. I find a lot of other modern Superman stories optimistic… but naive, and clumsy and oblivious. Many would probably find it pretentious.

With one of your examples, The Elite were basically The Authority, and arguably used in a more straw man like fashion in it, and for some, thats how they like/prefer Superman, but for others… I greatly preferred the Civil War movie over the comic, because whilst both had conflict, I found that ideological conflict was better balanced in the movie over the comic. The movie was also pretty light, and silly, as opposed to oppressive and dark. A movie like Pan's Labyrinth with more quips and humor would be kind of lame, but its still got lots of fantastical parts, sentimental moments. The other important part here, is that stories that strike the right balance, and find large success, often get emulated, and sometimes thats how trends start… even if in the deconstruction, the wrong aspects get repeated/emphasized over others.

Nice blog by the way.

@bh6shouldhavehadsilversamurai:

Hello.

Whilst I can sympathize with your stance and possible frustrations, please be aware that CV has certain policies on language and swearing and your post broke a rule. (Use of a certain F word) I know no malice towards any other user was involved, but the rule still exists. Just something to try and remember for the future.

Thanks and take care.
