Faux Affably Evil Part II
A continuation of my previous list.
A continuation of my previous list.
The original version. The Angelina Jolie version is more genuine Affably Evil.
The ones who used to be heroes all seem to take on a rather sadistic and taunting personality after being turned into zombies.
And she seemed SO nice when you first meet her too.
A couple different versions of him come out as being this.
Like this one for example.
At least the DCAU version anyway.
After becoming evil
The DCAU version
While he is genuine Affably Evil in some episodes, most of the time he's more this.
The Ultimate Marvel Universe after going completely off the deep-end and becoming totally bat-s*** crazy.
Both as Norman Osborn and as the Green Goblin, though definitely much moreso as the latter.
The comic book version, as opposed to the MCU version, who I judge to be more genuine Affably Evil.
As most clearly displayed in the super-catchy "Oogie Boogie Song"
Just about all major versions of the character are this, including the younger version seen in the recent Gotham show.
At his most malevolent.
He is a known back-stabber after all.
Knows how to sound polite and civil, as shown in his interactions with Satine and later Darth Maul, but he's clearly a bad dude with no remotely benevolent traits or intentions.
The Young Justice version
The Shakespeare version.
Especially in the Arkham games.
At least in some depictions of him anyway.
Especially the animated version.
Now here's two characters with the name Scar that fit this. Who'd have thought?
Oops, make it three. Well, kind of three...
Somewhere in-between this and genuine Affably Evil.
While I think he could be considered genuine Affably Evil in MK: Legacy, in the games proper I feel he's more this, especially given his duplicitous and treacherous nature and tendencies.
Sometimes this, sometimes genuine Affably Evil. It depends on the episode.
"You have very nice manners for a thief and a liar."
When a villain
The Regime version from Injustice Gods Among Us, who after becoming evil tries to pass himself off as being just as polite and friendly as he was before, but it's shown to be a facade that comes apart at the seams after the Insurgency and the other world's Justice League continue to defy him, at which point he snaps completely.
While she was more genuine Affably Evil in her earlier years, more recent depictions of the character tend to have her as more this. She is a sadistic terrorist leader after all, not to mention a rapist. The Nolanverse version of the character also fits this, since she pretends to be nice when in fact she's the main villain.
Somewhere in-between this and genuine Affably Evil.
Occasionally slips into this.
The Disney version
Especially the movie version.
The psychotic, genocidal, and evil version of her seen in "Justice League the Flashpoint Paradox".
Just like the real Xehanort.
Especially the movie version.
