Samurai Jack #4 REVIEW!!!!! 0

Jack's hunt for the threads of time continues! With only one issue left before the first story arc closes, let us see what is in store for Samurai Jack.THE GOODThis story follows Jack high up in the mountains looking for another thread of time. However, as always, Jackie is going to be facing another threat guarding it.I'm glad this first story arc is nearly over. Writer Jim Zub and artist Andy Suriano have done Samurai Jack's saga justice. This comic book series has had it's ups-and-downs, but ...

Samurai Jack #3 REVIEW!!!! 0

Jack's adventure to collect the threads of time continues!THE GOODYou know what this issue reminded me a lot of? The episode "Jack and the Lava Monster". This issue really reminded me how honorable Jack is to a warrior that is equally as good as him. What happened in that episode was that the Lava Monster needed to be killed by an honorable warrior to pass on to the next life. And that was kind of what happened in this issue. Kind of.Writer Jim Zub really did a great job at conveying Jack's hono...

Samurai Jack #2 REVIEW!!!!! 0

Jack continues on his quest to look for the Threads of Time! To get the next thread, Jack must face the twins Dis and Dat.THE GOODI said it in my review for the last issue, but I really do think that writer Jim Zub and artist Andy Suriano are doing Samurai Jack's saga justice. While they are working with what they got (this assumedly being a 10 issue limited series), they never fail to capture Jack's world exactly how the animated TV show would capture it. While it does have strong differences f...

JACK IS BACK!!! 0

It's got that Samurai Jack kinda feel. "GOTTA GET BACK, BACK TO THE PAST, SAMURAI JACK!" Samurai Jack is BACK! After being prematurely canceled in it's 4th season, fans of the series knew that we'd never see Jack defeat Aku and return to the past. Even though it was teased that an older Jack would kill Aku, as seen in season 3 "Jack and the Traveling Creatures", we never saw this happen. However, now with IDW Publishing and Cartoonetwork reaching an agreement to publish Samurai Jack comics, fans...

Deadpool's Walking-Dead-like World story, continues! 0

Night of the Living Deadpool continues into it's second issue! Read my review prior to this if you need a reason to read or runaway from this series.THE GOODWe don't care about the supporting cast anyway, just like manners they're out the window now. Now that the story has established Deadpool in this post-apocalyptic world, we can finally start enjoying this series! With Deadpool looking for sanctuary in this zombie world and encountering more and more problems. Killing off the supporting cast ...

Ever want two great things combined? Well Marvel has you covered with The Walking Dead-- I mean Deadpool. 0

It's Deadpool and Zombies, um yes please? In this parody series of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead.THE GOODWhat's this story about?Zombie hordes vs. Deadpool, seems like a fair fight. You ever think to yourself, "ah man I love Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, I wish Marvel would do something like that just with Deadpool instead and less gritty?" Well if you thought that, then well, that's what you get from this Deadpool series written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Ramon Rosanos. Is it any...

If you liked Superman/Batman from the pre-New 52 era, then you'll probably like this. Superman/Wonder Woman #5. 0

Enjoy the current Batman/Superman duo series? Well you might like this series as well. THE GOODFrom what I can gather"This is-- some pretty amazing artwork." It's just like the pre-New 52 Superman/Batman series, or like the current New 52 Batman/Superman series. Moving from story-to-story every couple of issues. It's a process that has had, and will have, a hit-or-miss effect every couple of issues, but it does create some interesting stories and an enjoyable experience. Series like this one or ...

It's a time trapping adventure starring the JLA! Full of heroes, villains, and awesomeness! 0

The Justice League of America are on an adventure to stop the Legion of Doom from changing the past and ultimately making the JLA cease to exist!First off all, you must be thinking "JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time, I haven't heard any news about this?" Well if you thought that, then you are absolutely correct, but if you've been following this for a while; then you are in the 1% that's actually been following this. I mean I only heard about this direct to DVD two weeks before it's release, then ...

Smallville season 11, or what is actually happening in Superman's world? 0

Smallville Season 11 written by Bryan Q. Miller and with artwork by Jorge Jimenez, journey into Superman's world in this digital comics exclusive. THE GOOD:The world rests on Clark's shoulder, as it usually does.I've heard good things about this series! I've heard that Smallville Season 11 is a great take on the Smallville series and expands on the universe that Smallville has created. However, I've never read an issue until now. This being a digital exclusive, I can get kind of an understanding...

Well, it looks like Earth has turned into a garbage dump in the 31st century. Justice League 3000 #3 Review. 0

Flash is dead, Green Lantern is captured, and the remaining League members are being held prisoner on a wasteland Earth.THE GOODSuperman has gotten more arrogant in the future. The story wasn't great, but it did have some enjoyable aspects to it. One of the only things I enjoyed about this 3rd issue's story, was that it started moving forward in terms of seeing if the League were "really" hero material. It showed their true nature and what their thoughts really were on their fellow teammates. It ...

Lets see what you are made of. JL 3000 2 Review 0

The Justice League still have their differences, being clones and all, however that's not going to stop them from finding a dangerous super criminal named "Locus".THE GOODThe team on another adventure! What a great issue, am I right? If you read this issue, then you'll know what part I'm talking about -- didn't see that coming. Well, maybe just a little bit, but not so soon. The League is on another mission for their bosses and creators, The Wonder Twins, but when a simple recon mission goes down...

The team from yesterday; today? Wait, what? JL 3000 Review 0

The old Justice League you know and love is now a thousand years in the future. That should be fun, right? THE GOODAt least we know that somethings never change. It's the hand they were dealt. Everyone that's a DC Comics fan, loves the Justice League in some past or present interpretation. So why not a future one? Well there are good and bad reasons why this is an ok comic instead of a great one. First of all, I greatly enjoy a League set years in the future with an ideal of these heroes living...

Ra's Al Ghul's other daughter; a tale about love, betrayal, and revelations. Arrow S2 Ep. 13 "Heir To The Demon" Review 0

The story so far...Moira Queen is running for mayor against Sebastian Blood, in hopes to really change the city for the best. The League of Assassin's seeks to reclaim their lost assassin, Sarah "Black Canary" Lance, in hopes that she rejoins the the League or dies along side her family. The Lance family reunites! However, under some unusually deadly circumstances. After being told last episode that she couldn't practice law anymore, Laurel Lance handled it like a pro and drank until she passe...

Half Good. Half Bad. A crazy adventure starring Harley Quinn and a bunch of people. 0

Harley Quinn is getting her own monthly series. Sounds exciting right? Well, we will see what these 17 artist have to say before the craziness REALLY begins in issue 1 -- which I already reviewed, link below!I'm going to be reviewing this a little differently from my previous, and future, reviews. Instead of going through the usual "THE GOOD, BAD, and VERDICT" I'm going to rate this "Half Good and Half Bad". Giving each half a rating of 2-stars. I know, a bit crazy. But seriously, I can do whate...

Wait, why does Harley have an apartment? Isn't she, I dunno, a CRIMINAL! Harley Quinn #1 Review 0

The dynamic duo, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, are BACK! This time with an ongoing Harley Quinn series. THE GOOD:Conner and Palmiotti are back on a series together! That there in itself is good news for fans of the dynamic artist and writer duo. If you loved Pre-New 52's Power Girl series, then you should at least give one issue of this series a try. But........There isn't much good to this issue. However, I did enjoy small aspects of good in this first issue I read. First of all, it's goo...

"Your pal, Mikester." - Michelangelo TMNT 30: A time we finally get to see the Turtles bond after City Fall. 0

This issue is partly told from the eyes and words of Michelangelo, the Turtles are are still adjusting to their life on the farm. THE GOODAnd everything is right in the world! What makes this a 5-star comic review?Well it's really an assortment of things (i.e. writing and art) that make this a 5-star review. However, lets start with the writing/story. A part of what makes this great is the writing. Kevin Eastman and his team of writers did a great job with this story. It focuses more on the Tur...

Turtles are healing up in the country side from the recent events of City Fall!THE GOODThis is not a great issue, but it is an adequate one. Kevin Eastman and his team of writers are slowing down a bit. We've had mutants, guns, swords, ninjas, and betrayals all wrapped into a seven issue story arc (eight if you include the prologue in TMNT issue 21). It was a fun ride seeing what Kevin Eastman and his team would cook up for us Turtle fans. However, now is the time for slowing down and focusing/r...

Justice League War Review 0

With the start of a New Year, the DC Animated Universe Team is adapting another slew of fan favorite comic book stories. With a New Year and new beginnings, the best way to get everyone in the mood is by retelling the New 52 story that brought the Justice League together. If you are a fan of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's work on the first story arc of the Justice League comic book, then this is your DC Animated Movie! The DC Animated Universe Team does it again! They have successfully recreated one o...

City Fall concludes!THE GOODTeenage Mutant Ninja 'Stalgia -- Heroes Bringing Old Memories Back, Turtle Power! So we've had a pretty decent story arc. We've had Foot Ninjas vs. French Ninjas, turtle vs. turtle, father vs. son, and overall the Shredder wanting to takeover and rule everything (but you knew that already). This is a good story arc for those looking to read this series. It has everything a TMNT fan could want. It was a predictable story, however though the predictability was a negativ...

City Fall continues!THE GOODHeisenberg cameo, so that's what happened to Heisenberg!!!!! #HeisenberglivesCity Fall has gotten increasingly better! We've had turtle drama, hero identity dilemma, awesome fight sequences, and a really engaging story. With this being the second to the last issue, things are winding down now with the TMNT team having captured Leo. However, there's going to be at least one more fight before we get Leo back home. Side note, it could be a coincidence, however I don't th...

City Fall continues!THE GOODIt's only the beginning alright Shred Head... Karai plays second fiddle to no one! What a great issue! We had Shredder and the Foot Clan attack Victor's headquarters, Splinter's uneasy alliance with Old Hob, and more turtle drama. The highlight (obviously) is the battle between the Foot Clan vs. Victor's Clan. Kevin Eastman and company, did a pretty solid job on this issue and here is why.First of all, Eastman and his team of writers did an absolutely fantastic job on...

City Fall continues! The GOODSo far we've seen The Shredder and his plan to take over all organized crime in the city, friends get injured and turned into bad guys, and the bonding of brothers. All things that credit this to be one of the best TMNT story arcs out there. Sure we've seen it before, but that doesn't mean (when done right) it can't be an enjoyable experience. And that's what reading the City Fall story arc is; an enjoyable experience. Even the Shredder plans on stealing Mateus and ...

City fall continues!THE GOODLeonardo was captured by the Shredder and his Foot clan and through dark magic made Leo think that he was originally a member of the Foot. So of course you know the Turtles got to deal with this. The writers (Kevin Eastman and company) did a good job with the story of this issue. Having Leo briefly fight his brothers in this issue was a good setup for what's to come. The issue never had pacing issues as this was more of a building issue, then a shock-and-awe issue. A g...

Tony wants to avenge his sister's murder, however he's gonna need some help from Olive and Amelia first! The GoodLets crack some E.G.G.'s (nailed that pun). First of all, one of the highlights of this issue was Olive Chu kicking some serious E.G.G. butt in this issue. It's really shown how she's grown as a character and become more powerful than her father. It begins to make me think on how deadly she'll be, come issue 60 of the series. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it! I assumed in m...

Tony maybe depressed that his sister might never be avenged, but elsewhere Savoy is planning to break out of prison. The Good & The BadNow the story is moving somewhere! Tony takes a backseat in this issue as we focus on Savoy and why he's really in prison. Three issues ago, we saw Colby sock Savoy in the back of the head and he took him to a maximum security prison. Of course since they were partners, it didn't really make any sense for Colby to do this unless it was all part of some larger...

Tony needs to eat Toni's toe to get her help on defeating the Vampire Cibopath, but before that happens Tony has to help his older brother fight against, food porn?!? Also, now that Savoy is behind bars, what is his and Colby's next move? The GoodIf you have ever read an issue of CHEW, you know then that writer John Layman and artist Rob Guillory have fun with this series. It makes sense that the ideal of food porn powers in a series about people with strange food abilities would be the means of...

You didn't think we wouldn't see our old friend Toni again right? The GoodRemember Toni's toe that Tony found in his freezer last issue? Well, now we know half of the chain of events that led to Toni chopping off her toe. These types of issues are probably my favorite. While I do enjoy what is going on in the present, I probably enjoy even more when John Layman takes a step backwards to give the readers clearer understanding on a plot point in the present. To make things more understandable, thi...

The end of the story arc Bad Apples is here! The GoodTony Chu's world is about to get a bit more complicated! With the recent death of Toni Chu, Tony is out for the Vampire Cibopath's blood for murdering his sister. And now this is the best place to jump on to the series. With this series going to reach an unfortunate end with issue 60, John Layman is stepping up his game and making sure each issue doesn't leave the reader asking questions that will never be answered. Layman made a good move, by...

Batman And ... 21. It's not a uniform -- It's a shroud. 1

Batgirl joins the title as the next guest star. Meanwhile, Batman is going deeper into his own failure to save Damian. The GoodBatman is still grieving. With the Batman & Robin title focusing on Batman's interaction with his allies it is interesting to see the viewpoints of each guest star character during this time in Batman's life. Batgirl is no different to this pattern that Peter J. Tomasi has followed. There were some good parts in this issue. Tomasi did a good job with the ending of this...
