    The FIRST anime series of the Macross series of robotic transformers warships and musicians stars. Produced by Studio Nue (Japan) in 1982. It was subbed and rebranded in USA (along two unrelated series) as Robotech by Harmony Gold.

    The anime follows the war between humanity and an militaristic alien species called Zentraedi, and the personal and romantic lives of the newbie pilor Hikaru Ichijyo, the military officer Misa Hayase and the young idol Lynn Minmay, that ended in the space stacion SDF-1, in a long expedition in outer space to confront the alien enemy face to face.
