Zatanna and Batman have been friends for a number of years and in recent history childhood friends. Things have not always been easy between the two as she erased minutes of his memory things became tense but they made up. Zatanna even proposed to Batman that they start a relationship although he rejected the idea because he didn't want her hurt with him. She still remained his friend.

Bloodwynd is an extremely enigmatic necromancer that uses a powerful mystic relic, the Blood Gem, to fight the forces of evil. The gem grants its user divine abilities and was created by slaves via magic rituals. It has since then been passed down from generation to generation, with "Bloodwynd" being its current wielder.
