    Origin

    Altjira is a creator deity in Arrernte mythology, responsible for the creation of the Earth and all living beings. According to Arrernte beliefs, in the Dreamtime (a sacred era in Aboriginal Australian mythology), Altjira shaped the landscape, created the first humans, and established the laws that govern their society.
