November's Captain Marvel #12 will begin a new story arc in which Carol Danvers will become a "dark" reflection of herself as "The Last Avenger" (viaCBR).

Drawn by Lee Garbett, "The Last Avenger" will pit an apparently evil Captain Marvel against her fellow Avengers. It's unclear exactly how Carol will come to this point, but the advance solicitation says "Earth will never be the same."
