has anyone ever soundly defeated Wonder Woman? could anyone at Marvel beat her?
Wonder Woman
Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8882 issues.
The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.
Can anyone beat Wonder Woman?
Doomsday. Darkseid. First Born. Batman oneshotted her once lol but let's not count that.
Some people at Marvel who can beat her: Silver Surfer, Thor, Thanos, Binary...
Thor and below will lose. Anyone higher should beat her. Really, a lot of people can beat her easily. Maybe they will make her a beast with her God Mode showings.

DC Ares could, but he always jobbed when fighting against her.
consistent jobbing against a character is called losing

A lot of people could absolutely destroy her.
Plenty of people can/have. I'd rather not have to list them all though.
No one can beat Wonder Woman <3

FB is gonna lose
Everyone knows that, the villain always loses. But will she beat him alone?
@Rustyboy: time will tell. Id say yes. Heck. She coulda killed him but spared his life cause she was sad aries died. Before that she hadnt used her swords or spear. The moment she did, it ended the fight. We'll see though. You never know. Mayne itll take hera, Orion and her together. That would be lame though...well, on the other hand, that would cement first born as a pretty big powerhouse

She needed Orion and War to beat him, she used her bow and arrow which is made from the same material of her spear but she still lost.
You mean Superman's his contingency plan, I don't think Superman would suffice.
But he does, which is one of the main reasons he hates Clark being with Diana.

Of course he would suffice. If Superman needed to put her down he would. Batman seems to think so.
Argue all you want but there's no arguing with Batman.

A moral-off Wonder Woman willing to kill, I don't think Superman can stop her without help. If I remember right, Batman said Superman was the League's only hope for stopping Wonder Woman, not that he would definitely manage to pull it off

Of course he could stop a moral off Wonder Woman. He's Superman. I'm not saying it would be easy, it would probably be a very long and very heated battle, but he'd pull it off. If the fate of the 7 billion lives were at risk, and Superman was the last and only hope to stop her, and if he loses then is Earth is doomed, then you be damn sure he's gonna win that fight. Superman saves the day, that's what he does and who he is, because Superman is the symbol of hope.
Not to mention we gotta consider the reaction from the gods if Wonder Woman went fully evil and started a rampage across Earth, killing heroes and civilians alike. Even if they're not exactly "good", it'd be in their best interest to have her stopped, cause as soon as she's done with Earth, what's to stop her from coming after them? Even if she were decked out head to toe in all kinds of magical gear, the Gods would most likely aid Superman before the fight starts by offering him magical protection against hers. I'm just considering the whole scenario here.
So yeah if Wonder Woman went rogue, then Supes would be the one to stop her. Help from the Gods or not.

The gods have no affiliation with the Justice League though, Batman can't just count on them to intervene. These contingency plans are pointless in my opinion, he doesn't need them. If one of them snaps and goes on a mass murder spree the remaining 6 will take care of it, unless Superman and Wonder Woman succumb to madness simultaneously which supposedly is why this relationship gives Batman anxiety. With all this precious info, if it's Batman that suddenly sides with evil, he'll have the means to indulge his madness.

I never said they had affiliation with the Justice League, but Wonder Woman is a well known and important figure to the Gods. She is after all the new God of War. If they see her suddenly turn evil and start killing heroes and innocent people, they're not gonna just shrug at it and continue on with their day.
@madflavor: Ares kill people all the time and they didn't care
@madflavor: Ares kill people all the time and they didn't care
Ares isn't Wonder Woman. Not to mention her enemies could take advantage of her turning evil by helping those who want to stop her.
@madflavor: The gods CANNOT intervene in any situation on Earth. If that was case then they should of stop Darkseid and Braniac from invading Earth. They not going to stop Wonder Woman so you need to deal with it. Her enemies dislike the JL nate.

Nope, cause that's pretty arguable. We've seen gods on many ocsasions intervene or aid certain situations on Earth. We've seen Apollo sun blast Zod and Faora, and Hephaestus has crafted armor for Superman and Wonder Woman before. It's not a stretch at all to say the Gods could aid the heroes in a situation were Wonder Woman went evil.

Quick example of one possibility. Hephaestus crafts Superman magic resistant battle armor, and or Apollo blasts Superman with a lot of sun energy before the fight. There's all kinds of ways they can intervene. Why would Apollo help Superman? Cause it's an opportunity to get rid of his enemy.
@madflavor: Apollo and Hephaestus are dead. I just stated First Born killed them so try again.
@madflavor: Apollo and Hephaestus are dead. I just stated First Born killed them so try again.
They looked alive not too long ago in Superman/Wonder Woman, and the remaining issues have had no mention of their deaths. I did the same for the Wonder Woman series and I haven't seen a mention of Apollo and Hephaestus's death either, but that series takes place before Superman/Wonder Woman. Where are you getting that First Born killed these two? What issue? And can you answer without sounding like a jerk with the whole "try again" thing? Contrary to what you may believe I'm not your enemy and I'm not out to get you. Stop sounding so combative.
