    This cover could've used more thought and concern in the layout, but the concept is undeniably compelling, so much so that it pretty much makes up for the so-so balance.So after a hit-and-miss opening arc, and then two absolutely atrocious issues, #9 gave us a nice look at how this series could actually be GOOD again.     THE GOOD: Jim Lee is drawing this issue so everyone should know that there is going to be tons of details. I really like the way he draws the characters on this series. He makes them look so godlike that it's amazing. He also manages to draw the characters like they are in pain and it looks amazing. The story is simple I think. We are getting the origin of the new villain Graves. I like this story because I feel that the origin is interesting. I also think that him knowing a lot about the heroes...

    Short, but sweet 0

    This issue was good, but it was much too short. It almost felt like the book was split down the middle with Shazam. I think Johns has at least somewhat found out how to wright the League's team dynamic. Batman acts a little more like Batman and i enjoy that he and Superman have a relationship outside of the League. That and the fight between Graves and the JL made that half for me, especially the splash if the whole League attacking. In the Shazam back-up, I enjoyed the cameo of Tawky Tawny...
